Were all going to die anywayunreal713 said:*blows smoke at WindScar*WindScar said:It's disgusting, I hate it and you should stop it. I cough LOUDLY whenever i see someone smoking to let them know that I don't care for their smoke. Why on earth would you PAY someone to SLOWLY kill you?
We're all slowly dying anyway why should it matter how I decide to spend my existence? Anyway I can think of things that are far worse than second hand smoke, be it physically or mentally damaging.
Yeah, but do you know how much second hand smoke you have to inhale to raise your chances of getting any of things? It's a lot more than people think. Fair enough you shouldn't smoke inside when you're living with someone who doesn't want the smoke, but other than that getting a whiff of smoke in the street is not gonna give you lung cancer.dkyros said:People harp on the lung cancer, but what some of you may not know is that it is also linked to:
Cancers;Acute myeloid leukemia,Bladder and kidney, Cervical, Esophageal, Gastric, Laryngeal, Lung, Oral cavity and pharyngeal, Pancreatic
Pulmonary diseases; Acute (e.g., pneumonia), Chronic (e.g., COPD)
Cardiovascular diseases; Abdominal aortic aneurysm, Coronary heart disease, Cerebrovascular disease, Peripheral arterial disease
Reproductive effects; Reduced fertility in women, Poor pregnancy outcomes (e.g., low birth weight, preterm delivery) Infant mortality
Other: cataract, osteoporosis, periodontitis, poor surgical outcomes
- And this isn't just first hand smoke so if you think about it, saying that it feels good just makes you sound selfish.
holy hell mate have those cigs not started to taste a little off after 3 weeks? they must have dried out like f*ck!Vredesbyrd67 said:Me, I've been smoking for around 8 months now. I started with cigars, but now I've started with cigarettes. I've had the same pack for almost three weeks now, and I still have 7 cigarettes left. I'm being very careful, because I know how addictive they are.
Now I don't smoke, because well I'm not legally old enough. But I do know that something like 70% of my close relatives are HEAVY smoker. They're doing something like 1 and 1/2 to 2 packs a day.And most of them would call someone smokes half a pack a day a lightweight. And I think that they are right on that.Because 1/2 isn't really that much in terms of real addicts.case_orange said:If you're doing half a pack then you're addicted.
Trust me here. I was up to almost a pack a day there for a while, and it took a shit-ton of effort to just get down to two-a-day. I hope to be done with em by the end of summer.
That's akin to saying "the semi-truck didn't kill you, landing on the pavement twenty feet away did."rekabdarb said:shit son more power to ya, hate all those people who are like "CIGARETTES KILL!" and my retort... "cigarettes don't kill... cancer does"
Fine, whatever - go ahead. Just have the courtesy to keep the fuck away from me when you do it.CrysisMcGee said:So How do you feel about smoking?
haha...wow...you realize that was a joke? lighten up dude!CuddlyCombine said:I'd argue that anybody who enjoys cigarettes is addicted, simply because your body isn't very receptive to nicotine until you've smoked enough to get addicted. In other words, you could smoke a cigarette twice a week, but all you'd be doing is damaging your lungs and teeth.
