Lol. You drew that yourself?

Had to do that, sorry about the quality.

I'm not a fan of smoking, especially in public. Bars are the worst. You come home and everything you're wearing smells like smoke and your throat hurts. There's actually a public smoking ban being voted on this fall for my state. I hope it passes. I don't care if you do it in your house, car, etc., just keep it to yourself.
I hate these laws. Even before I started buying smokes weekly, I was pissed when Fort Wayne, Indiana passed a law against smoking in bars, clubs, and restaurants. In the end though It turned out to be a good thing because as much as I enjoy it, I wanna fucking breathe as well. It's nice not having the air caked with smoke.

I remember when the law was first passed. Girls from the strip clubs had to stand outside. People driving by got a bit of a show and complained.

You can't have your cake and eat it too, idiots. Eventually they all just put up smoking areas outside or inside the building.

I can't stand the smell, and there's the whole 'cancer' thing. So no, I don't smoke. I also remember how irritable, cranky and generally withdrawal-evident my father became when he tried to quit(and that was from just a few a day).
I guess I'm decidedly hostile towards the tobacco industry as a whole.
I don't mind the smokers themselves much, as long as they ask or leave before hitting up their shit.
They have, in my opinion, been lured in by the lovingly effective advertisement of an industry fueled by human souls, the poor buggers.

Thread over.
If the statistics in that video are actually true, then...fuck.

I don't smoke, I don't intend to, and I pity the people who are addicted because they can't help themselves. I really think more should be done about stopping the spread of smoking and helping people to quit, because on a purely selfish level, if it really is that damaging to me, then fuck you asshole, stub that little stick of death out.

Well then, stop for a week or two, and if you have no withdrawal-symptoms, then we can talk about you not being addicted.

Good for you mate, not deterred from the fact that your lungs may slowly fill wih fluid and slowly sufficate you to death.

Also, you probably are addicted - ever seen House? try going without cigarettes for a week, if you can't take it - you're addicted.
I love this argument. When I can't go 2 days without one, then I'll admit it. I'm sticking to my guns on this one. In fact I may even try to go a week.

Yeah I'm all to aware of the health issues.
The fact that you have to TRY to go for a week without smoking should give you your first warning signal.

Well thats all fine and dandy.

Though I would say that you are addicted. You may continuously go out of your way to say that you're not. But I think the test of that would be when you haven't smoked for weeks and to see how you feel.

Personally, I'll smoke a cigarette if its offered to me while Im on break at work or if someone were to ask me. Though I never have a pack on me, I don't have the money to start something like smoking regularly.

One of my best mates smokes between .5 and 1 pack a day. Its very annoying, since he constantly needs a cigarette.

Face it kiddo, you're addicted. Might wanna do something about that.
Yep - get a nice expensive zippo, a cigarette case, and Ray Ban Aviators, so nobody would ask if you're "addicted", but see that it's just a "matter of style" XD

Anyway, half a pack a day, and happy with my health.

Opposed to it.

Dont really understand why someone would pay to kill themselves faster.

Enjoy your black lungs.

I've smoked somewhat since I was 18. Though I really didn't get into it until I started smoking weed. Don't smoke weed anymore, just cigarettes.

I'm not addicted though. Been smoking for 2 years now. I do it because I love the taste of a good menthol, and the nicotine rush. Usually only smoke half a pack a day though. Stopped smoking 2 days ago because I ran out. Bought another pack this morning. My brand is marlboro smooth, 100's.

I smoke simply because I love it. Not sure if I will ever quit.

As for people who hate the smell, It's very easy to cover up the fact you've been smoking as well. Toothpaste or mouthwash work quite well. Wash your hands. Either smoke outdoors or in a moving car with the windows down to avoid having your clothes and hair smell like smoke. And put the butts in a sealed container instead of an ashtray, like a 20oz pop bottle, until you put your trash out.

The last bit is more advice to other people because I hate the smell of used butts.

So How do you feel about smoking?
FINALLY!!!!!!
Someone else who gets it. Smoking is just amazing I hate the people who say it's paying to kill yourself cuz its really not. Newport 100's, about 3 packs a week, nice to meet you

I tried it once, didn't like it and I refuse to so much as touch another one.

OP: Ok, so you're doing half a pack a day and you say you're not addicted and yet, you're doing it because of the nicotine rush.

I call shenanigans, you're addicted.

In order to pull that card, you have to craft something that at least looks something like a joke, or could pass as one.

No. Absolutely not. Indirect personal experience has made me hate the Tobacco Industry.

Those bloody deathsticks.

I get asked by all my smoker friends why I don't smoke, and my response is "How much do you spend on cigarettes per week?"

It's usually between $30-60 per week, sometimes more if they have a pack-a-day habit.

That's about half of what I earn.

I find smoking quite pathetic to be honest. A few of my friends started smoking in high school and I really couldn't believe it when they went outside for a smoke when it was freaking -40 celsius outside with hail stones the size of a fist. Sometimes, there's a 30 second walk to the shop from the car and they light one up! I think I could never understand being that addicted to something.
