How can I live with my self? Just fine thanks, i'll live longer than most people because I won't die of a stress related hart attack. I only smoke, at most one or two cigars a week, which is not harmful in any way shape or form and people who try to tell you it is, are people who have clearly never read any studies on its effects or studied carcinogens. Studies show that a daily cigar smoker (one a day) who Dose NOT Inhale has a roughly 1.5 percent higher chance of developing mouth, facial and throat cancers, which are some of the rarest cancers one can get. The same chance of getting repository disease as a non-smoker. The risk of lung cancer is minimal, elevated slightly than a non smoker, but not enough to be a statistical argument. If you smoke two cigars a day NOT inhaling it doubles these figures, 3 a day doubles them another time and five or more a day increases your risk factor by 8. There is no evidence in ANY cigar related case study to support elevated risks of an occasional smoker. However cigar smokes who inhale deeply are just as likely to develop lung and larynx (voice box) cancers as a 10 a day cigarette smoker, 20 a day if two cigars are inhaled ect. This is a VERY IMPORTANT factor in mortality when smoking cigars, for example the most risk a person who dose not in hale, who smokes daily is a roughly 1.5 increased risk of cancer. Whilst inhaling gives the smoker a 51 times greater risk of larynx cancer. Second hand smoke is also a non issue with new uk regulations, with people smoking outside the carcinogenic chemicals in smoke don't linger and thus cause no statistical, viable increased risk of ANY from of cancer of respiratory illness.
I don't smoke cigarets because I don't see the appeal, they have no taste or refinement, are vastly more addictive then cigars, and MUCH WORSE for you. With that said I don't have a problem with smokers or feel the need to tell then how to live there lives. When I smoke I always sit out side, whilst I do enjoy the smell of the smoke I don't like the smell of lingering, stale tobacco around the house, nor do I like sitting in smog.
Which is pretty apparent now, I smoke exclusively cigars, because I enjoy the taste and the hour and a half unwind they give, cigars are like fine wines they all have a different flavor and, granted its an acquired taste, can provide some of the most enjoyable sensations to the taste buds. The amount I smoke is minimal and if any one tells you or tries to convince you that puffing on the occasional cigar is going to give you cancer is completely wrong and have been taken up by the overly paranoid, nay saying anti-smoking crowd. The irrational beliefs of people today is a sign that government propaganda is still going strong, and they can sway opinion just as well today as the nazis could in WW2. On that note I would like to point out that Winston Churchill was a chain cigar smoker, he died at the age of 85, not from cancer or any illness related to smoking.
"I drink a great deal. I sleep a little, and I smoke cigar after cigar. That is why I am in two-hundred-percent form."
-Winston Churchill
