are you talking about gears 1 or 2? if your talking about 1 i have to agree and if you are talking about 2 then your wrong if you can pull off a close quaters headshot when up close being shot by a shotgun then please tell me what im doing wrongSpirultima said:

5) If they include the word Sniper or No-Scope in there gamertag...Well that doesn't techniaclly mean there bad but let's just play off sterotypes here.

I love sniping. I'm not exactly the best, but I'm decent (see my fraps videos; links are on my profile). To me, it's the funnest style of combat. The only time I camp is if there's a lot of people I can see at the spot. Otherwise, I try to stay involved with the action.
My favorite sniping is on Halo 1 for the PC, because it's the only game I know of where there's significant "bullet lag" for the sniper and you have to compensate for distance.

See, this is the guy that gives Snipers a bad name. No offense, but you are the worst kind of sniper. The guy that sits in one place the whole match killing unsuspecting people, possibly with a teammate watching your flank the whole time so you're invulnerable. That really doesn't take any sort of skill, nor does it give you a sense of accomplishment.sneakypenguin said:

M has some skill in high kill low gravity servers.
Notice I said non DM games, it's not unfair or cheap to lockdown an area, I mean if you know i'm around there and you continually waltz though the area then it's your fault. Just counter snipe(grenade,smoke, airstrike, Battle rifle or sniper rifle) me or avoid the chokepoint. In DM games though yeah give me an M40 with the acog and turn me loose.MetallicaRulez0 said:

Halo is really the only FPS I play online because it's the only game all my friends have, so I can only comment on sniping based on that. I don't snipe that often and when I do I'm usually below average with the occasional bout of genius. I play what I like to call "mid-distance," using the battle rifle. I don't run in, guns blazing, nor do I sit back and snipe.
Exactly, I typically play an assault type no matter the game. Grab a full auto and sack of grenades and take it to them. Anyways snipers are portrayed horribly in most games I like how they work in Red Orchestra because they are mainly an area denial weapon instead of any real annoyance.Count_de_Monet said:

AWP maps in CS1.6 were always a ton of fun because you actually had to have some skill to get a decent score in one of those servers.
CS:S doesn't seem to have nearly as many sniping only servers but when I manage to find one they are pretty fun, but not as fun.
