I just love coming up behind you guys and blowing a hole in your back.

Your talking to a paranoid sniper, the MOMENT i hear a footstep, i have Dessy in hand waiting, also thats not mentioning my traps, nor my placement.

The way I snipe is I run up to people and head shot them.

I call myself a "Battle Sniper."

I don't mind jokes by the way, but this is serious, show some actual skill, not the fact you can aim in a general direction and hold down a button until something becomes motionless, i like the idea of a sniper...

A lone wolf, possibly accompanied by a spotter, the waiting, the patience, the endurance, then the target you've been waiting for, for such a long time comes into range, the feeling of "this is a do or fail" shot, the rush you have just with that one bullet, knowing that it all rests on your own skill, you take the shot, miss or hit, you know you position could be compromised, what do you do?

So what game do you snipe on, because what your describing sounds to be some kind of mystical console game in which sniping actually take skill and the maps are big enough for the sniper not to be seen - I've only played one like that, and its not that great...

The only console game I have played that I would consider sniping to be a genuine skill is in Battlefield : Bad Company.

So your trying to tell me if you camp in a building on COD4 with an M16 and pick people below off your "sniping" - because thats not sniping, thats camping and it doesn't take an ounce of skill.

I could never be good at sniping because I get too easily bored and switch my t.v. back to my programs, then come back waiting to respawn. I'm more of the kind of guy who runs in as a distraction and to give snipers a high score.

Also, for the record, anyone who accuses of a Sniper of being a camper in a bad way, you obviously get killed a lot by snipers.

In my defence, 1. well in CQC im usually screwed in many different ways, so thats your forte' not mine, 2. Personally im not much of a camper, unless i find a perfect position, on CoD5 i got most of my kills with the revolver, i was more deadly when i was in last stand, no joke, 3 and final: well you wouldn't try using a shotgun in long range would you? They, along with Snipers and Gunslingers are the only three who can camp.

I LOVE THE BULLET TIME MECHANIC! it keeps the noobs out of the class! it adds realism.

well to clear up this matter
a sniper was dubbed so because a long time ago, there was a bird that was called a "snipe" those who could hunt and capture this extremely elusive bird were dubbed "snipers". Thus, snipers are people who camp in one area (say in halo waiting for the opposing team member to come running back to their base with the enemy flag) and kill the designated targets, very few though mind you. Snipers in video games are not very common, however designated marksmen are extremely common, those who run around with a sniper rifle shooting at what they see. So, just so i have my facts straight, you are saying you are extremely good at stalking and hiding in a video game, then taking out people with a single shot?

Amen, amen. I find it funny that he starts a thread devoted to calling out campers and prententious, arrogant snipers, and he himself is both of these.

I'm a shit sniper, and I'm not afraid to admit it. The only thing I'm decent at is support, and I still suck pretty bad at that too

This is pretty much my position too. That said, my definition of "support" is more or less letting team mates go first so they can work their bullet-sponge magic.

But yea I suck at sniping.

Ok, that pretty much ends the thread from my perspective; your going on about how amazing you are at sniping and yet its revealed you only play games in which sniping isn't a skill at all...
