However, I see little purpose in this. You are in fact guilty of the crime you accuse of others - not because you are lying, but because there is no way for me to tell if you are a good sniper. And you know what - I don't care. This is boasting no matter how you go about it.

Just about any game where the sniping is developed, not just a gun that CAN kill someone.
...what?

So your trying to tell me if you camp in a building on COD4 with an M16 and pick people below off your "sniping" - because thats not sniping, thats camping and it doesn't take an ounce of skill.
*buzzer* sorry thats an incorrect answer. M16 is NOT a sniper, thats a semi-automatic machinegun with a scope as i like to call "the pussy sniper" or "the noob sniper" im partial to the Dragonov because it does have some recoil, can't be fired repeatedly and still be effective, and it does take more skill to master. And the M1014, because that has low recoil, but is a bolt action.

Im not trying to boast, im trying to prove a point, i don't need to say how good i am, i prove it. As in "Try me" + my PSN.

The sniper rifle and I have a complicated relationship. Currently we're devorsed and I'm trying to date an MP5 and see how it turns out.

Those who say sniping takes no skill are the ones who haven't tried for more than one game, because either you are extremely lucky or just have them run towards you
We are talking about consoles here...on PC where there's no auto-aim and the maps are bigger I agree it does take skill, console - it doesn't in most games.

Also, for the record, anyone who accuses of a Sniper of being a camper in a bad way, you obviously get killed a lot by snipers.

In my defence, 1. well in CQC im usually screwed in many different ways, so thats your forte' not mine, 2. Personally im not much of a camper, unless i find a perfect position, on CoD5 i got most of my kills with the revolver, i was more deadly when i was in last stand, no joke, 3 and final: well you wouldn't try using a shotgun in long range would you? They, along with Snipers and Gunslingers are the only three who can camp.
So your a "good" sniper on a game that takes no skill...

Ok, that pretty much ends the thread from my perspective; your going on about how amazing you are at sniping and yet its revealed you only play games in which sniping isn't a skill at all...
CoD3-4-5, Warhawk, MGS1-2-3-4, RE5, Battlefield 2 and Bad Company, TF2, i can go on, but there is no need, it might be because its all i do in a game, aside from shotguns, pistols and grenades and most people do it as a secondary thing.

I said that because your previous answer made no sense in the slightest...

As you brought up COD4, that is one game in which sniping takes no skill. The levels are so small, there is no distance effect taken into account and there are automatic claymores...

Hmm, i think i know what your trying to get at, but dropping the Sniper is like giving up the nice girl for the pretty girl also known as the MP5, i know the Sniper can be a tough relationship, but when you get past it, she'll help and protect you, more then MP5 who more out for your wallet and soul. I wish you well on your endeavour

if you read my post on FPS strengths and weaknesses you'll understand why snipers are the least of my worries (not that i've never been killed by them

i remember 1 time in mgo when i nailed the self proclaimed "king sniper" a clean headshot from across the map with an MP5 ... he left the map after i slit his throat a few times ... but there are AWESOME snipers out there i'm sure .. i just havent run into one yet

I argue, because the maps are small people can take you out much easier, and also, claymores are a single use object, if they dodge that then your screwed, unless you've mastered your pistol weapon (i recommend that so much).

*sigh*

The maps are smaller making your target easier to hit - its not about staying silent in COD4, snipers are rarely if ever used in competition play because they aren't effective in a real match against organised team - a sniper is a wasted player on that game.

Facts are that every game you have listed bar about 3 (maybe) have been either single player or games in which Sniping takes little skill. Your desperately trying to cling on to some sort of irritating arrogance, and yet you only address the points you think you can counter-argue. Completely ignoring the fact CoD has no bullet distance effect; thus making sniping in that game poorly done. Particularly as the hit detection is not perfect, as confirmed by Infinity Ward.

Sniper no sniping!
Damnit, I don't feel original for saying this anymore. I hate not being unique.

I treat sniping like an extreme sport. If I'm not doing it while flying through the air or while riding shotgun, it's not fun.

I usually play snipers. Im still playing BF2 a lot all these years on. I tend to play more Project Reality these days. If you like BF2 but want a more mature, teamwork based environment without the bunnyhopping stupiness of standard BF2

http://www.realitymod.com/

New patch is out today, it is a superb Mod and very underated.

When I do play shooting games (usually for about 10 minutes before I get bored recently - maybe Battlefield : Bad Company 2 and Modern Warefare 2 will change that) I am usually a sniper, yes. On COD4 I used to play hardcore, yes.

Why does it matter...?
