Now that's not necessary my good friend. It's just usually the Doomsday, Bible thumping morons who believe in the Church as their savior rather than God.

and to quote Ghandi, "It is sad that you Christians are very unlike your Christ"

:( I'm kinda dissapointed in the people predicting this. Just another reason to let the world laugh at those with beliefs while the tolerant and respectful ones catch the butt end of this.
This is probably the 40th time that the apocalypse has been said to occur, in my lifetime alone...
Yeah, Ghandi was a really cool guy, he doesn't afraid of anything.
I like the intelligent christians that believe their stuff and leave everyone else alone. They are the most engaging to argue with.

Unfortunately, when 1 douchebag that calls themselves X, everyone who considers themselves X, catch the butt end. It doesn't matter who is actually X as far as everyone around them, is concerned.
Point well taken. Glad we can agree on that. The funny thing was that even Jesus taught tolerance and to leave well alone if others didn't wanted to be preached to.

But this May 21st thing is kinda unexpected.....sort of like the Spanish Inquisition...

Just like Mohammed didn't want anyone to make a picture of him because he didn't want people to make a big deal out of his face. Oops?

Also anyone that tries to solve one dogmatic doomsday prophecy with exacting math using an estimate as the main variable really shouldn't be so sure of themselves.
What he said.

Also, I've always wondered: If you're certain of the apocalypse, why tell everyone? Just causes unnecessary worry and suffering...
This guy wants us to know so that when the day comes, we should repent as the sinners we are and as a broken people, beg for God's forgiveness and mercy.
He also accepts credit cards.
Just for the record, my post is not an insult to Christ or Christianity as a whole but merely to point out that we can't put our trust in these people who claim to be Christians that want you to listen to their ignorant teachings.

Also, I am a person of faith, of Christ and I am ashamed of the recent Christian ignorance we have been seeing in the news.

That is all.

And and and, in addition to all those other statistics:
It's the twenty first of May, the fifth month, 5 +21 - 3= 23
It's on a Saturday, so that equals 23 obviously
It's supposed to happen at 6 PM, 6 is 18:00 in military time, 18 + 5 (fifth month)= 23
The last prediction was in 1994... 23.

The signs add up, yep we're all gonna die.

Ah this bullshit, combining bible codes and numerology, two of the most massively idiotic and subjective things in the world mixed into a single waste of time. You know what? Anyone who got sucked into this shit, anyone who spent their money on it, gave up their possessions, drug their kids into a pseudo-cult, deserves every last fucking thing that happens to them. In all honesty I wish these people had the decency to at least kill themselves after their predictions prove incorrect to simulate some form of natural selection.

I know what sounds really harsh, and it is, but think about it; falling in with a cult like this requires interlocking layers of gullibility, stupidity, personal weakness, blind faith, lack of pattern recognition and the unconscious acceptance, nay desire, that the entire world will end "Soon" and that 99% of the human race will be tortured for all eternity simply for not following the specific moral code of a religious splinter group. When they smile and hand you that flyer they're literally saying "You better act like me and believe what I believe, otherwise an all powerful and "loving" deity will sentence you to eternal anal rape with red hot horse dongs." They're basically using a very narrowly filtered version of religion as a big moral "Fuck People who are different then me" sign. And it sickens me to my very bile filled core that shit like this can be paraded around as some sort of message of joy rather then the condescending moral elitism that it is.

1)The 7,000 anniversary of Noah's flood
2)The 13,023 anniversary of creation, and that
3)Supposing that Jesus Christ was killed on April 1st in the year 33 A.D., which would make
1) that could technically be true, but we won't know until we carbon date the ark.
2) again, carbon dating has proved the earth is AT LEAST more than a million years old
3) Jesus died in an entirely different month. easter takes place in april because of christianity assimilating pagan religions

yeah. this guy obviously is pulling these numbers straight out of his ass. and that's objectively speaking.

if it DOES end, my fiance has allowed me to do whatever i want with her on that day (though that wouldn't be too different from other days)

A small splinter group of christians, led by Harold Camping(who also predicted this would happen in 1994) has predicted the apocalypse on May 21 at 6:00 P.M.(local time), a claim which they say is based on
1)The 7,000 anniversary of Noah's flood
2)The 13,023 anniversary of creation, and that
3)Supposing that Jesus Christ was killed on April 1st in the year 33 A.D., which would make May 21st the 722,500th day after his death(I did the math and, taking into account leap years, it's actually around 722,514 days, which would make this part of the argument invalid.), which is the product arrived at with the equation (5x10x17)^2. According to Camping, five means "atonement", ten "completeness" and 17 "heaven"(although what that "squared" is doing there is anybody's guess). The group seems to be hanging up billboards to warn everyone of the impending end of the world.

Thats disappointing...
When I saw the topic name...I thought I was gonna have psn...

I'm a Christian, and I'm like meh. I think we can't possibly know when God will do this. It's been predicted hundreds of times before.

I've seen one of those billboards in my hometown. Well. Now I know what it means... I wonder if they have a specific meeting place for me to burn bibles out in front of?
Oh come now. They'll have enough humiliation when nothing happens.

And besides, book-burning? THAT'S LOW, MAN.
It's not like I was going to start a bonfire.
It'd probably be one of those tiny, shitty hotel bibles too, so it'd be even smaller...

But I guess where I live is too prone to wildfires for me to just leave a burning book somewhere...
Ah, religious intolerance. Wonderful. I bet if Christians attacked you you'd say they were intolerant, but it's fine for you to that to them....

This is completely, utterly, ridiculus. I mean come on, who would write this total nonsense and even worse who would believe it? Everyone knows that the world is going to end on julian date corresponding with the product of the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42.

Wake up Sheeple!

I can't believe that the world will end in just over a week! Great math by your part but I don't think it's true!

I wish groups of people, religious or otherwise, will stop predicting the apocalypse it just freaks people out for no reason!

Bu then again I wish it was though, then I can get out of doing my English lit A-Level exam!

I like how these groups pop up every 4-6 years. I remember the Russian group in 2006 who held themselves up in a makeshift underground bunker and the cop were waiting just outside trying to talk them out...
