I think the word migrant gives the impression that they are going somewhere, the gypsies we are talking about are probably Irish Travellers. They move from place to place setting up camps, but you have to understand that the UK is a lot more densely populated/cultivated than most of the USA. There is hardly any land (especially near towns) that isn't privately owned or used for a specific purpose. You can imagine then that it causes considerable ire when a whole group of people suddenly start living on this land.Aidinthel said:

I'm a Romanian, and I can tell you that gypsies are not Romanian, they are one of Romania's minorities, if anything we hate them, just like the rest of the world, oh god do we hate them, they were brought here as slaves before the 50's and then given freedom, but:
-they offered no value to our society,
-screw with our garbage,
-move into abandoned but OWNED buildings and then have the nerve to call it their own when the real owner asks them to leave,
-reproduce like fucking rabbits and put their kids to work(usually begging),
-use any shred of money they have buy gold and expensive houses with a retinal burning color pallet, all the while complaining that they don't have food,
-and fuck up our reputation with the rest of Europe...
I could go on, but the thought of them is not even worth it.
Their main problem is that they have no word for "possess" in their language (even after adapting some of their host country) they do not recognize or acknowledge property, if you want them to go away, get somebody to back you up(like law enforcement) but they never leave quietly... EVER.
