I dont know what constitues "good" or "bad" music taste

I think for me to take somones opinion on music seriously they should like more than one genre...and not entirly dismiss genres or anything "new"

also music elitism..pisses me off

I like to think my taste is pretty awesome. I'm a severe metalhead. Thrash, Power, Progressive, Black, Death, Nu, Stoner, Groove, I listen to it all. I also like a lot of alternative like Barenaked Ladies, They Might be Giants, a lot of 90's alt rock. I like a lot of (actual) rap. Old school like Nas, Public Enemy, Rakim, Tribe, Big Daddy Kane. To newer stuff like Eminem, older Ludacris, DMX, jedi Mind Tricks, Ill Bill, Immortal Technique and Apathy. I love classic rock. How people typically define it anyway, Zeppelin, The Who, Cream, Beatles, Chuck Berry, Vanilla Fudge. Blues like Stevie Ray, B.B. King, Lightnin' Hopkins, Robert Johnson, and T-Bone Walker. The soulful music of The Four Tops, Sam Cooke, Al Green and The Temptations. Punk, Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, Green Day, and The Sex Pistols. And I love me some Elvis and Sinatra. Grunge kicks anus too.

I like the odd "bad" music. Like Limp Bizkit, Bryan Adams, and some Death Metal, though I tend to listen to more technically apt Death Metal like Mortification, Obituary and Believer. But anyway, I think my musical taste is awesome overall, though I'm sure most would disagree.

No need to put yourself down OP, musical taste is subjective. Also, [youtube7=everything after the = in the URL]

Seconded. While it's perfectly fine not to like genre Y music, saying that all Y music is X isn't as fine.

My musical taste is... diverse to say the least. Though my roots and taste is mostly defined by Progressive rock and metal. Think Tool or Porcupine Tree.

Music ?!?!? I listen to almost exclusively talk radio, audio books, and podcasts. Of course my job requires me to spend a good deal of time driving. Spending hours upon hours behind a wheel made me want to jump out of my moving car when I would listen to music. Talk radio, audio books, podcasts, etc were a much better option.

Mine is horrible

I love a good chunk of Dubstep and generic dance music
I also spend a ton of time listening to 90's - early '00 Alternative.
Throw in some older ICP and I'm set.

Pretty much exclusively 80's pop... Duran Duran, A-Ha, Adam and the ants... that kind of thing...

Oh, and my secret pleasure: Wham...

Call me crazy, but I always had somewhat of a soft spot for these kinds of songs.

I was kind of raised on popular music myself. I remember being driven back home from school listening to these songs. Good times...

Basically anything that is performed on instruments and has a good beat, without being muddy / growly. That rules out electronic music and death metal. Then exclude modern pop music bs and you're mostly done. Everything from Ray Charles to Apocalyptica depending on the mood. Right now I'm in a Judas Priest kind of mood and listening to the Painkiller album. <3 Rob Halford

Yes. That is a cover of Metallica's One, performed on CELLO!

I got a pretty wide range of music that I like, so I can't honestly say that my taste in music is "bad" in any way! Even though music taste is subjective.
(But fuck modern pop music, seriously).

I barely listen to anything that in my own language these days, got everything from German, Chinese, Swedish, Japanese. Guess I'm just fed up of knowing what people are singing about, I can concentrate on the actual music more like this.

I like all kinds of music except maybe country, rap, reggae and techno. Due to my diverse taste, I can't really call my taste in music bad... besides that I like Tenacious D, which some would understandably call a bit vulgar.
