I dont dislike Rock

I dislike people sitting upon their high hoarse with their 60's/70's rock going on and on about how music was better "back then" and how rap and electronic "isnt real music"..any youtube comment really

I said rock because its usually oldschool (popular mainstream, I wouldnt put dreamtheatre in that catagory) rock that has the most elitists..but they arnt elite theyre just close minded or simply dont know that music exists outside of whats played on the Radio...so its "durr hurr just beiber sucks!"

with the internet no one gives a shit whats playing on the radio

and yeah..alot of it doesnt do anything for me, mabye that just means i have bad taste in music, I dont know
And now put yourself in their shoes. Maybe the music being produced today, electronic and dubstep in-particular, does not 'do anything' for them. They have no music they feel a connection to being made anymore and a lash out against it; quite like you do to the older music. Are you so much different from those who you despise?
I would say yes, because, like he said, he doesn't hate rock. Said elitists are lashing out at the music because it doesn't do anything for them. Vault lashes out at the people for being asses. Hate the playa, not the game. :p

OT: I like to think I have fairly good taste in music, but I'll listen to mostly anything with a good beat and instrumentals. I don't listen to the words as much, just the sound. So yeah, I'll listen to pretty much anything.

Except screamo. Screamo isn't music. [/opinion]

Although, I do admit I tend to go more towards the more orchestral music, especially when it's combined with electronic or contemporary.

I like to listen to classical music, so I don't think my overall taste is bad.

However, there is one artist that I enjoy, and am a little ashamed to admit...

Not that there's anything wrong with her music.

Bad Religion. In small doses. Their lyrics are pretty crap, I can't deny.

There is not a DAMNED thing wrong with those lyrics.

The things that people are bashing are sad. They really are.

I listen to a couple different genres. From stuff like Apocalyptica, Disturbed, Nickleback (I don't understand the hate behind it all.), Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Johnny Hollow, Parov Stelar, a couple songs from Basshunter, ATC's Around the World, Evanescence, I do like Adele's Rolling in the Deep..
And I admit, a few of the stupid YouTube TF2 mashups (Surprise Buttsex and the like.) But there's a YouTube channel called BadLipReading, which is kinda like misheard lyrics, for deaf people. Simply going by reading lips this guy makes an entirely new song out of some songs, new vocals and music itself. The only thing he re-uses is the music video for that song, only slightly edited.

Here, he managed to turn Black Eyed Pea's song Boom Boom Pow into Everybody Poops
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQTW7Pd1vqc

And ONE 70's song. Rasputin by Boney M. it's too damn catchy and I randomly find it playing in my head throughout the days.

Parov Stelar

Those 3 are my favorite, and currently stuck in my brain all the frickin' time.

I really enjoy listening to classic rock & roll, blues, swing, country and western, orchestral and cheesy pop music. Basically anything with a strong melody. I know its mostly considered rubbish, but the way I see it I'm already a games and film snob and don't have the time or energy to be snobby about music as well. In my defense I have tried listening to metal, but whenever I do all I can think about it is it would be a damn sight better if the singer would shut up so you can hear the decent instrament work going on in the background.

Oh, and best singer ever is definitly Frank Sinatra. Why is it no-one sings Baritone any more outside of opera?

Yes there is. They're stating things that we already know and they're trying to sound rebelious about it.

I'd say mine is pretty bad. Especially consider that this is my favorite song ever. Of all time.

Seriously. No joking. I LOVE this song.

Get back with me when this dubstep, what you refer to as "music" can create an experience as thought provoking and compelling as this...
I'm confused...you posted a song with literally only 5 words, that repeats the same few basic sounds over a 7 and a half minute period...What is thought provoking or compelling about that?

I like pretty much anything that utilizes actual musical instruments instead of computers to make the music....

On a side note, the existence of Dubstep makes me wish a nuclear destruction of the human race.

And... greatest song ever goes to:

This sounds like a reasonably awesome mix of System Of A Down and a band called Triceratopolis (Link:http://triceratopolis.com/)

It's not about the lyrics, more about the atmosphere and scene it conveys. And there are a lot of subtleties and depth in the song. It's not for everyone, but it's the kind of music you lie down and just let yourself be absorbed into. Probably not the best example though, this is more complex-

I feel my taste in music is really diverse,
instead of listing what I like I'll list what I don't:

Dubstep
(most) Dance
That's about it!

My favourite music genre is Soundtrack, especially game soundtracks.

The only thing I can think of that I listen to as a guilty pleasure kinda thing is Papa Roach, but then that's mainly out of nostalgia. To be honest, as much as I deride other people's music tastes, I don't really care that much, but I find it quite funny and I can't really be bothered with saying some twee crap about art being subjective.

Cut my life into pieces, this is my last resort...

What on earth are you even trying to say?

We already know? We who and how is it relevant?

Rebellious how? In a bad way how?

"Rebelling" is sometimes a good thing. In this case "we" is a small minority of people who understand the negative impact of Christianity on American culture. Rebelling, means making a statement against the Christian majority who are a problem, and hopefully inspire others to do the same, instead of submitting to their BS.

I think that there's a problem with what YOU'RE saying, ridiculing those who have the bravery to be out of the closet about problems they see in society.
