Well propper movie/TV vampires are in Blade and the Underworld series, i'm sorry but vampires are coldblooded killers who will drain you of blood and tiee you on a post so when you transform they can watch you burn, nasty but pretty dam awsome.

Dracula was done best by Bram Stolker the origonal too bad half the book was describing the story of some random girl that was a hard few hundred pages.
Maby a bit of victorian dress style top hats and suits with long cape type things and jusy that evil smile that says "I'm not like that Edward Cullin now get over here so i can rip your throat out."

That pretty much sums up my thoughts. I like the Darren Shan vampires especially. The most romanticized vampires I'll tolerate are the ones in Vampire Knight, whose sun tolerance varies by blood purity and who have awesome fucking powers and some actual personality, unlike that Twilight bullshit. Oh, and there's also a plot to the storyline.

Classic series Doctor Who.

Best. Vampires. Ever.

The Great Vampires were a major enemy of the Time Lords. The war between the Time Lords and Great Vampires was devastating, and led to the Time Lords' policy of non-violence, which apparently lasted all the way up until the Time War with the Daleks. The leader of the Great Vampires escaped the war, and the Doctor bumped into him in State of Decay. They could only be killed by puncturing the heart.

The Haemovores (literally meaning "blood-eaters") were humans infected by the Ancient Haemovore, who was a human whom Fenric, one of the Great Old Ones, had brought back in time from a pollution-ravaged future Earth. The Great Old Ones were present at the creation of the universe. An encounter with haemovores was said to have been Bram Stoker's inspiration for his Dracula novel. They were telepathic and could be repelled by an invokation of strong faith, for example a priest wielding a crucifix or the Doctor listing the names of past companions.

From what it looks like, people like the kind of vampire from 30 Days of Night (surprisingly good movie might I add).

Answer: I don't. If I did...

They should be at least somewhat attractive; Count Dracula was a suave, sophisticated older gentleman from a foreign land, and that's what made him so deadly to women as a blood-sucking creature of the night.

They should be dangerous, but not super-fast parkour masters that are faster than bullets, because they're damn near invincible already.

They should be repelled by symbols of strong faith, strong sunlight and can only enter a person's safe haven by being invited in (with their hypnosis powers, that isn't a good defense).

Basically a combo of old-school late 1800s vampires and Vampire: The Masquerade. Like, on camera they'd be blurry and the cameras would burn out if they stick around too long, and other modern spins on their old traits.

Mystical, weird (strange rules), dangerous. Either the "oh woe is me" -kind or the "YEAH... i am a HUGE BADASS"-kind.

I don't like "infected" ones... not sparkly ones... and not the "friendly neighborhood vampire" ones (nothing against "good vampires", but i mean the one: Yeah i am just like a human, just more awesome.

I like my vampires totally old style pole trough heart, garlic, black cape, old man sitting in chair drinking blood while laughing and ofc big teeth not those short vampire teeth that are a half inch longer than the rest of the other it's better like in the old movies than you see the regular teeths grow from normal to 3 inch stirletto style you know really dracula style.^^

Storywise I'd say like Vampire the Masquerade, there's so much lore behind it. Quite frankly though I find VTM vampires to be weak compared to their 3.5 d20 brethren. Only thing I dont like about VTM is the amount of supernatural entities everywhere, it undermines their uniqueness.

The vampires i like are like the ones from the books i write.

Direct sunlight makes them burst into flames.
They look human unless they bear there fangs.
They are super naturally fast and strong.
They can not fly or turn into anything.
They are monsters who dont care about anything but themselves.
They need blood to live and hunt for it with a ravage fever.
They can be seen in mirrors and can enter houses without an invite.

They are killed by sunlight, wooden stake to the heart and decapitation.

"Ahh vampires souless creatures who crave blood they have supernatural strenght and speed. You have proberly walked straight past one in the street without even knowing it as they look human and only show their fangs when there either fighting or feeding. If you find yourself face to face to one a stake to the heart or total decapitation will instanly turn the vampire to dust."
