That's WAY too much. People think there's a difference between the quality of signals between Monster cable and normal cables, HDMI is digital it's very hard to get a crappy signal from it. Just make sure the cable is rated to what you want 720p+ and you're golden. I got my cable for like 12 and I hear it could have been less.

This should be fine, Monster Cables are overpriced garbage and I'm always good for helping people avoid them at all costs. They sell "One way directional cable" which is bullshit, there is no such thing in the world as cables as 1 way unless one end is different than the other then sure. There is NO standard for cables so you can claim they do OMEGA HYPER HD and you'd be okay with it.

HDMI ver 1.3 is better than 1.2 obviously and 1.4 offers ethernet and audio return.

I'm pretty sure this is the same one I got off amazon, I got it ages ago. The rest Verizon gave to me for free when they installed Fios.

Sorry to butt in but how the hell do you come to the conclusion that the PS3 isn't good for games? Personally, I'd love to see the 360 run a game like God of War 3 without grinding to a halt...Or MAG for that matter (I know the graphics on it aren't that good but its the gameplay that counts and for sheer size it shits on any 360 game)

The PS3 is wasted power, it technically is a better console than the xbox and has a lot of potential, but it's like if you're the world's strongest man but you're in a world with very, very few heavy things. It's not the PS3 I dislike per se, just what they're doing with it, they're wasting all that power with a lackluster range of titles (God of war, Uncharted 2 and Heavy rain excepted). Also, it's not about power, its about the quality and enjoyability of the games: Left 4 dead is a classic, a brilliant game, yet is pretty low tech and wouldn't work on the PSN because of the god awful network.

Also, my friend who owns MAG said it was a big, huge dud. A classic PS3 game, big on tech but low on actually being good.

The PSN store has better quality games than XBLA as well and the PSN+ actually gives you FREE stuff...yes, FREE!!! MS only give you free stuff when Live goes tits up.

Okay, I'll admit, I know nothing of PSN+ because I never bother with my PS3 any more. What do you get for free, I can't be that good can it? Don't even get me started on the PSN store, the three years I used my PS3 for was marked by a total lack of any decent games on it (aside from old PS1 games) and cannot possibly compete with some of the games on XBLA.

I've personally had more fun with my PS3 than I ever had with my 2 xboxs (1 of which set on fire FFS)...I personally couldn't give a shit about party chat either as the xbox one just pissed me off with invites every 10seconds...Also, the XMB looks infinately better than the NXE
Speaking as someone who has owned both consoles and has been gaming for 18yrs of my 23yr life I think Im fairly qualified to make such statements.

I've personally had far more fun on my Xbox than my PS3, which spent most of its time, even before the xbox, turned off and waiting for a good game to be released. I don't have the problem of constant invites because I rejected most friend invites and basically only have my real friends as xbox friends, which is always a good idea in my opinion.

As someone who currently owns both and has been gaming for 15 of my 18 years, I feel qualified to say such things.

Third person in this now . IDK what you're talking about when it comes to games. The Xnox )which I'm comtemplating selling) only has Mass Effect, Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable. Three shooters and a crappy RPG (If Fable 3 doesn't blow me away than the Xbox is DEFINATELY getting sold). The only reason games like Halo and Gears sell so much is because there is nothing else to choose from.

it seems that what I said was valid, but outdated. The power does seem to be being better utilized, on review, than I had previously thought. I'm just a bitter ex-sony devotee, pissed off by the rubbish first two-three years if the ps3, and it was rubbish, seriously.

I'd still keep the Xbox, though.

5. get the trigger add ons for the ps3 controller..idk if your like me, but i hate having them convex, i need those suckers to be actual triggers, like the 360, so buy those, they are probably 4-5 bucks at any local game shop or store that sells ps3 stuff.

you cant private chat besides text...sucks but oh well, can't be perfect.

id recommend uncharted 2 if your looking for a fast action shooter, its pretty fun and the story isn't horrible for a shooter.

beyond that go with your own taste, steam is gonna be coming to ps3 soon (idk how that'll work if you have a pc account already) so check into that maybe.

oh also for a game, i recommend tecmo bowl, its an old school football game (if you like those) but it is ridiculous amounts of fun (my dad showed it to me last year, and no nostalgia involved) its very very simple, but freaking awesome and a good friend game to match up in.


or if your into a fighting game, capcom vs. marvel 2 is on there, i have that, its pretty fun, kinda easy to just button mash away but still fun =]

edit: go for whatever cable is cheap with decent reviews, i've bought plenty of different ones and they all worked great

5. The PS3 is incredibly retarded when it comes to switching the video output. If you plug in a HDMI cable it'll change itself over automatically. If you then plug it back into the standard def AV cables, it doesn't change over automatically. You have to go into the settings and manually change it back to run through the AV cables.

Hold the power button down until it beeps a second time when you turn it on, then it will revert to SD.

Resistance = Crackdown (I find it better but people may disagree so lets say there equal)
Demons Soul > Fable II
Uncharted > Gears
Kilzone 2 = Halo (Personally Killzone is way better but many people like Halo so tough to choose one)
InFamous > Left 4 Dead (not same genre but they are both open worlded I guess)
Mass Effect < Every ps3 Rpg (my first game on 360 I loved it)
Dead Rising is coming to Ps3 so...
Little Big Planet <<<< Limbo
Gran Turismo 5 < Forza

Not to mention there's still Valykria Chronicles, SOCOM (large fanbase), Warhawk (pretty fun IMO), and MAG (never played it but c'mon you got to commend them for 256 players online).
