I had to pull a tooth once, it was the fourth tooth from the left on the upper part of my mouth, I just got a little drugged for the pain that was about to come, I felt it pretty good though, and although it was only a small tooth, it bled like hell :O

Also, I once had to FILE (!) a part of the side of one of my teeth, without drugs. Fucking awful, that's what it was..

Haha funny because I just recovered from getting my Wisdom teeth pulled out about a week ago. If your being put to sleep you honestly won't feel a thing, it's like drifting off in class and then suddenly someone taps you on the shoulder and you wake up and its done. I honestly blinked my eyes and the nurses were helping me walk out to my designated driver, it seemed like no more than 5 seconds went by. They did however drill into my jaw and cut a piece of the bone when removing one lower impacted tooth and that hurt like hell when the drugs wore off, so I was more or less miserable every moment I didn't have the overdose of Vicodin in me. Beyond that its not bad but boy does it suck if you have a job and you have to get these things out and be back at work within a few days.

Suggestion : Make sure you brush/rinse your mouth out beginning the day after your surgery, for a bit I thought I had an infection and honestly was not looking forward to getting my gums cut into to be drained (thankfully I didn't have an infection though)

P.S: This was my first surgery so I was originally scared $h!tless

My bit of advice: Don't let the drugs wear off. Don't overdose or anything, but keep at them as often as you're told to, because then you can avoid the pain almost completely.

For the love of all that is holy listen to your dentist when they tell you what to do and what NOT to do after the surgery. Dry sockets... you don't want to experience them!
To torture the squeamish its when the gob of blood thats supposed to settle in the tooth hole and heal over, decides to come out. This leaves you with a nice big open hole leading right into your jaw bone. Food and other stuff settles into this hole causing infection... and pus. At first you realize somethings wrong but you don't want to admit it. Your denial slowly crumbles as the pain increases. Finally when the agony reaches critical mass, you go back to the dentist. Thinking he will give you sweet sweet release from your pain, you get to experience him jamming a hose in your mouth and sucking out all the food and gunk that festered in your tooth hole. After this you watch in terror as he proceeds to poke long thin pieces of antibacterial gauze down through the open tooth hole into your jaw bone packing it tight. Imagine getting ten friends who all peel your fingernails back simultaneously.
I'm not bitter...

Mine are just appearing. I've had other teeth out before, so I guess the same diet of Ice Cream and liquid foods is appropriate.

I got another pulled before as ti was my last child tooth.

Didnt hurt much, just feels wierd having dental tools in your mouth, thats why I hate the dentist.
some things just aren't meant to be in your mouth.....LIKE SHARP METAL THINGS!

I'm going to have to get 1 removed probably. It's keeping a molar from growing. Luckily, I only have 1 bottom wisdom tooth. The other just never grew.

But my sister had her's removed and she couldn't eat normal food for a while. Also, there's a chance the bone could be showing (or something) requiring other precedures. Sorry if this sounds bad, but this isn't the kind of thing I lie about on the internet (unlike my name/address/species).

You might have seen this coming but when I got my wisdom teeth I was fucked up! Not even knocked out, I was trippin like hell. I had this crazy ringing in my ears that sounded found like laughing, and I could see the dentist all around me like someone painted him in a circle. This happened because he kept giving me novocaine and the gas many times; it made for a great trip.

Tomorrow morning I got to wake up bright and early to get my four impacted wisdom teeth removed at 8 a.m....Any tips you'd like to share?

How about your own personal story about how it was when you got yours removed?
I'd love to help you, but I still have all four wisdom teeth.

Well....

1. Are you ginger? (Red hair, Pigmented Skin yadayada) Gingers have a lackluster response to painkillers, so you would need to ask for more than the average amount. (20% more to be exact.)

2. Are you being put to sleep, or just fucked around with painkillers? (Being put to sleep is AWESOME PAWESOME SAUCE)

3. If you are getting fucked over with painkillers. DO ALL THE HAPPY GAS. You won't get this opportunity any time soon.

Tea bags, get them, wrap them up in the gauze they give you and put them back there. There's an acid in the tea bags that stops bleeding. Also, completely upright is the ways to sleep, I slept in a recliner the first night and the jumped out of it to land on my ass when I rolled. Also get put to sleep, I did, woke up right as they finished.

I was completely knocked out for mine. My dad took me home afterwards and I was sleeping until about 5:00pm (had it done early). For the most part there wasn't any pain besides a dull throb that went away when I took some pills they gave me.

My friend never had wisdom teeth in the first place, the lucky bastard.

I once had one of my front teeth pulled out when I was about 5 or 6. I accidentaly smashed it against my beds headboard, and after a while it had turned yellow

Just got them removed at the end of the year. The surgery was a breeze because I was completely knocked out for it. For the next few hours afterwards, use lots of gauze to cover a majority of the bleeding. Then use ice packs to ease the soreness and sweelling for the next few days.

All depends on the root, if its twisted you'll be left sore like you broke your jaw.
Recommend stocking up on straws for drinks, and prob gettin some soup without any chunks (you do not want food stuck in them holes when theyre fresh)

Take your medications when, and how, prescribed. Especially the antibiotics. That is a BAD place for an infection.

Also, don't do what I did. About a week after I had my lower wisdom teeth pulled, I figured, "Hey, my mouth feels sort of okay, I'll go have a bowl of Raisin Bran." Ohhhh, silly, silly young man, that was a baaaaaaad idea.

Keepin my fingers crossed for ya pal. The pain is gonna kick in after the extraction and you are gonna have to take it. Think of it as a test, bud. Good luck.
