Yep, had me some sholder surgery yesterday. Been long overdue, but there we go.

With a sore shoulder and lots of pills at my disposal, I'm curious to hear about other people's surgery stories. Just gives me something to do, since i only can use one hand right now. There's not a whole lot of stuff i can do

I've had a tendon rebuild, removed some bone to create space in there, and removed some.. "odd" stuff which weren't supposted to be in there. All in all i've been told it went well, so for now i've just got a 3 months training it back up ahead of me.

Really, this thread is probably just me letting it out, because i need to vent a bit. It's first time for me where i've had "major" surgery.

I've only ever had my wisdom teeth out.

Every morning I woke up with the taste of puke and blood in my mouth.

Fortunately, that taste it washed away with Chocolate breakfast replacement drink things. I can't remember what they are called right now.

Unfortunately, I never really got to go "loopy" on painkillers like many others I heard of. Yes, the painkillers were amazing at stopping pain (you know, painkillers and all) but other than that, nothing. I was kinda dissapointed. Oh well.

I had a deviated septum and couldn't breathe through one side of my nose. Needless to say the surgery went well but recovery was a *****. First i had all the gauze and whatnot packing shoved into my nose which meant i had to sit in a chair at an angle for 3 days but thank the lord for OxyContin. Then after that was removed i had to go another two weeks with two shunts on either side keeping the bone straight, goodbye sneezing. Finally i got all the crap removed and lo and behold i could breathe again.

Never had any kind of serious surgery. But I did have to have the bones in my forearm set back in place.
Felt a little weird.

Shit! I have a deviated septum but its not deviated enough for surgery. Thank chuck norris!

Got tubes put in my ears, twice.
Also had got me some stitches for being a dumbass.

Nothing real serious, but, I wouldn't want anything any worse.

I had two separate torsions. I didn't catch the second one. It had...explosive properties.

Nah nothing serious. Just stitches (without anaesthesia, I'm a mánly man!), but then again that's the opposite of getting cut open now is it?

I dread the day that I finally háve to get surgery. Getting cut open while you're alive, having people rummage around in your own living body...*shudder*
