Buy one or two of the $20 e-shop cards. If there isn't anything on the Virtual Console you don't want now, there very well could be within the next few weeks/months. Mutant Mudds is a DLC only game on the E-Shop and the demo was a lot of fun. At the moment I haven't actually used my 3DS recently since Mario Kart 3D didn't last me as long as I thought it would have. Waiting on Kingdom Hearts and, Theatrythem.

Cave Story, too.
Is that the one that needs the peripheral stand thingy?
It doesn't.
You get one because of "reasons" (I think even those in Nintendo don't know why), but you don't need to use it. The controls are different and awkward at first, but once you play 15 minute or more, the controls are just fluid and fine.

IMHO, it's the best possible controls for shooter on the 3DS.

OT:
Didn't really follow releases but was Monster Hunter 3G releases outside Japan? I know Capcom was bitching that they don't earn enough so they won't release. Maybe they changed their mind.

Zelda: OoT 3D
Star Fox 64 3D
Mario Land 3D

And for future releases:
Luigi's Mansion
Monster Hunter 4
Paper Mario (the one with the sticker, don't know full name)

I should get the thing today, but before that

Is the eShop available for new games like say, Steam but for 3DS?

Or is it more like GoG but only Nintendo titles? o_O'

The Virtual Console on the 3DS is different from the Wii's VC and doesn't have nearly as many games yet. For the most part is has game boy games.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Console_games_for_Nintendo_3DS_(North_America)

There we go: that's what on the 3DS virtual console at the moment. There is also a handful of 3DS games being sold on the e-shop but nothing there is something you'd find in a physical store. If you want Star Fox 64-3D you can't buy a DL version, for example. I think Nintendo may try doing that in the near future though but I could be wrong about that.

The recent heroes of ruin is a great dungeon crawler if you can get it. You can even get the demo first to try it out. Yay, demos on DS!

Wicked! thanks. SM3DL comes with the console, so that's one down XD

I've entered a phase of "whatever game you like is fine by me, unless you're a COD/BF playing nutjob who never leaves the house".

I've been thinking about picking up a 3DS as well, since I'll eventually have to get one for whatever 3D Pokemon main-series game they decide to make. I would probably pick up Zelda, Super Mario 3D Land, and maybe Rayman.

Available for new games: Not yet, but it will be in August.

GOG for Nintendo games: I'd personally compare the Wii to GOG more, seeing how it has more systems, but the 3DS does have a bunch of old handheld title, so in a sense, yes.

Some games from the eShop I really recommend:

Mighty Switch Force
Pushmo
Mutant Mudds

Kid Icarus: Uprising doesn't need the stand. In fact, most people agree that it's more comfortable to play WITHOUT it.

The 3DS eShop features a Virtual Console for handheld games (ex. Game Boy Color, Sega Game Gear, et cetera) as well as a slew of original titles. I highly recommend Pushmo, Colors 3D, Flipnote Studio (obviously), Super Mario Land, Kirby's Dream Land (the first Kirby game ever!), and even Sakura Samurai is worth the price for a couple days worth of very good, challenging fun. Don't get Mutant Mudds, though, unless you have a hankering for a PAINFULLY basic platformer.

Starting with the release of NSMB2, you'll also be able to download entire 3DS retail titles through the eShop, but only ones that are published by Nintendo. Obviously, you also need a huge SD card if you plan to make use of that feature.

One more thing: if you own a home console, get Rayman Origins for that instead of the 3DS. Not only does the game just look better on a larger screen, but the 3DS version doesn't have Origins' much-lauded cooperative multiplayer.

People really confuse the phrase "comes with" with "required to play."

Here's an image describing KI:U and people who say the controls suck. Please save it, set it as your wallpaper, and look at it every day to be reminded how stupid the gaming community is.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days was a really good game, other then that, Final Fantasy 4 was a solid game as well

I'm sorry, that looks like the most retarded control system in the world, and I've owned an N64.
It's actually just there to show it can be adapted, and people cramping there hands to try and "support" the 3DS are tards. It uses the exact same control scheme as Metroid Prime Hunters and that game was considered a godsend. It's good, trust me. The jokes are meant for adults and Nintendo fans, customizable difficulty, and rewards for taking risks with higher difficulties. Plus, great multiplayer. It's great. Trust me. Try a demo somewhere if you don't. The stand works great too.

You should do this same routine every time a new game comes out and there's 50 threads about it.
I can't see how it got from you making the same thread that was made the day before, to me making repeat threads. I guess this is what happens when you don't want to admit fault.

Resident Evil Revelations and Mario Kart 7 are my favorite games on it.
Revelations is a lot like Resident Evil 4, so if you liked that it is a good buy. The multiplayer is pretty awesome, it like is a 2 player version of the story where you fight a lot of monsters as whoever you want to play as from the game.
Mario Kart 7 is Mario Kart, it is really fun by itself or with friends, Online is also pretty good, make sure to go to the Nintendo E-store and download the patch so you can play online.
Super Mario 3D Land is pretty good, it is standard Mario stuff so if you like Mario it is a good buy.
Kid Icarus is pretty okay. The control scheme is kinda meh but in small ammounts won't kill your hand.
Star Fox 64 and Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time are both N64 games with better graphics. Both really fun and good, If you haven't played them before go and get those.
Blazblue Continuum Shift II is a pretty good fighter for it.

Apart from SM3DL which comes with the 3DS, I'm excited about these two. Lylat Wars and OOT were awesome ages ago, let's hope an update makes them better =D

If you want people to admit fault and apologise for making duplicate threads (however I notice the other one has disappeared from the front page)

You're gonna have a bad time.

Sure, I know that getting someone to admit fault is like catching a greased pig. However when I pointed out that this thread was a duplicate you could have used the search bar and checked if I was wrong before you started making claims that you were first. Also there's simply ignoring the part of the post where I said you should use the search bar and only see my recommendation. However admitting fault is scary, I know it. Don't worry, I don't need you to admit it. I have already shown you.
