I'd say SW Battlefront 2 and Timesplitters Future Perfect perfect but they've already been said, so I recommend Mashed, it's a driving game but from a bird's eye view and you have to kill the other racers to win, an okay single player game but great with friends round.

That's all I can think of right now.
After my PS2 broke (I don't know what happened ): I reflected upon all 20 or 30 games that I have and realized that they're basically all shit I can live without, and so save $100 on a PS2 repair/replacement and trade in all my games. Really, the only ones that I'll miss are Shadow of the Colossus and Ratchet Deadlocked. It's unfortunate, but I really think that most of the games for that platform are soulless time sponges, which isn't really what I'm into.
But if you've already gotten one, then Shadow of the Colossus FOR SURE. One of the best games ever, imo. Also, the first Ratchet & Clank, and Deadlocked are both tonnes of fun (I never got into the 2 or so in between.) If you don't have a PS3 to get the collector's edition, I'd suggest the first God of War as well (because, to say it politely, 2 and 3 can suck my dick.)

Dark Cloud + Dark Chronicles/Cloud 2 are both great non-gory hack 'n slash (for want of a better description) dungeon crawler RPGs with a town creation sub mode and loads of things to do, they're both great time waters and are a real blast to experiance.
Also, Shadow Hearts, a horror JRPG that is ridiculuosly gory, quircky and interesting all at the same time. The gameplay elements shine, whith it being turn-based but still relient on reflex as well as tactical planning. Although it can be very frustrating, the negatives aren't just cancelled out by the positives, they are decimated by them.

Having just played it, Metal Gear Solid 3 is a must. Get Subsistence if you can.
