So I just bought Bioshock

I'm buying a PS3 next week and I bought Bioshock so when I buy it I already have a game. Tell me about Bioshock. Is it as great as everyone says? I'm kind of a wimp, so it is like actually scary or just something just jumped out of the dark and tried to attack me.

if you've plyed system shock 2 you'll be in for a disappointment.

Damn it. I have to go play it again now, you've all reminded me how much I like Bioshock.

The story is great compared to nearly all recent games. The best part of the story is the history of the city. Gun and plasmid gameplay is unique but guns feel a bit awkward and most plasmids are useless when compared to others. There is a really good atmosphere even from level to level.

Also for the people who complain about difficulty, playing it on easy with the optional respawns (which are an essential part of the story, not some contrived gameplay mechanic) enabled does not qualify the game as too easy.

I've never played System Shock 2, but I've heard of SHODAN. She seems really badass.

bioshock is uniquely awesome. for me its about as perfect a game can be. like great graphics gameplay story characters and ending.

IMO the shooting mechanics felt kind of weak to me. I also never even died a single time (on medium).

Regardless, the story and atmosphere are top notch. The problem though is the game is so old a lot of this has probably been spoiled for you.
