I just take a historical look at Anonymous; since time immemorial anonymous has been writing poetry, waging wars, feeding our cats and been a general pain in the ass for any kind system that demands that every action be categorized and backtracked to a person for whatever abuse of blessing they have bested on anything.
correction: about 90% of active anonymous members are evil, some may do nice things but most of the time they will post or attempt to create child pornography and torture people just for the fun of it. I do find it hilarious that none of them are truly anonymous and it's easy to track them down even if they are using a proxy with the right software.
The girl was caught posting nude on the board to get some attention, Anon has some ethics as strange as it sounds and one of them is against camwhores trying to get attention (unless asked for it I guess) also the large part of Anonymous that isn't pedophiles were put off by it and wanted to teach her a lesson, when she became the usual cocky tween they didn't react well (nerds love stand offish douchebags don'cha know)and things got out of hand, more excitable people got ahold of the information and things happened, moral of the story is 11 year old girls should be nowhere near /b/.

Anon is chaotic neutral- it does what it wants. Also, no one Anonymous speaks for the whole of Anonymous- not all of them are the same, and 99% are not paedophiles ( they've helped the FBI sting one or two). Lighten up.

A) The article was fairly inaccurate and DoB was committing the crime of talking about anonymous instead of writing another one of his "My brief time as" articles which is almost as shameful as the lack of research he put into it.
B)Anon tends to seesaw back and forth between utter monsterdom and incredibly benevolent. Usually they are about halfway between the middle and the monsterdom but they are not truly evil just twisted. They aren't really a group either. They are much more of a sub culture if anything.

I too saw that Cracked article and also felt guilty for laughing back when I saw the video. Clearly there are just a bunch of sick fucks out there. I mean it must be better to just act anonymously together than to associate yourself with a group that also does things like that.

You... uh... you don't really understand what Anonymous is do you? "They" so to speak, are not a group, just a title under which many people hid their actions. The title has been used for good and for bad.
Anonymous isn't really good or evil. However, while I don't agree with the pedophile part, this chick seriously deserved what she got. I lol'd at the video of her dad yelling at the camera, so I watched one of her videos to see what earned her this uber trolling. She was truly a whore.

The Knowyourmeme research also shows that she was "something of a micro-celeb on StickyDrama, and had been posting questionable images and videos on her Myspace, YouTube, and other social networking profiles." Yeah... There are photos, apparently. I'll take their word for it.
So who am I to believe, researchers from across the web, most of whom probably don't even get paid for their work, or Cracked, and I don't know what Cracked does to get it's articles.
