I'm curious.

Has any of us given you advice that you think might work? Wether it's goinjg to the police, your school, a friend's house, the YMCA, anything?

I don't know about in scotland but in the states it's common practice that you can work at a motel or hotel for free room and board and a reduced salary.

Stop being a child.. It looks like its time to grow up and start taking responsibility. No one here is going to hold your hand for you and help you.. Stop trying to find financial help on a freaking internet forum.
excuse me? I'm not trying to find "financial help", I'm trying to find advice.
I have no idea where to look to get help from councils and whatnot because I'm fucking 16, I shouldn't have to deal with this. Considering a lot of members of the escapist are older, I'd like to think they know a bit more about this than I do. Therefore I thought, hey, why not ask the Escapist if they have any advice for me. so fucking shoot me if it pisses you off. dummy accounts are not cool.

How will it help you to shut up about it?
Giving the reasons as to why you're getting kicked up will help people understanding your situation better and provide helpful / supportive tips.

..Soooooooo, why did you get thrown out?
Because my mum found out what I'm planning to do after my 6th year of high school (I'm in 5th year right now), because I'm planning to go to Download festival, and because my room is messy because I've been clearing out my drawers & stuff. Throwing me out is an over-reaction, I suppose, but she really doesn't give a shit.

I was planning to go to a university near London because it's well known for being good at providing the course I'm after. This set her off and she told me that I'm "going to need the fucking practice".
Um, suck it up and apologize? Find a friend's couch to crash on for a few days and wait for it all to blow over. Life's too short to alienate your parents at 16. Just make nice and fake it if you have to.

I'm sorry but I was expecting something serious here, like you shot your brother or you're selling drugs or you're knocked up or something. You had a fight with your parents. Congratulations, you are exactly like 99.99% of all the other teenagers on the planet.

Ok, I have no idea what download festival is, but I'm gonna suggest what loads of other people have suggested: room with a friend for a bit, and work on both getting a job and sorting out the shit with your mum or finding a nrew place to stay.

That's pretty much all I can give you, although I'm pretty sure your local council can help you much more than any of us can.

long story cut very short:

my mum is throwing me out the house for various reasons i'd rather not list.
I'm 16.
I don't have a job.
my only source of income is £30 a week from my school & £40 a month from my dad (which will now, likely, stop)

help?

I don't even know what I'm expecting you guys to tell me, but help anyway?

& please don't tell me to try reason with her because she CANNOT BE REASONED WITH.
Your 16 and your being thrown out for not having a job... Im sorry you live in the UK right?!
Jesus christ thats hard luck on you, are you certain she cannot be reasoned with because this si way too harsh. Ask her if she was 100% self sufficient at your age, or ask your dad. If they live seperately then you could live with your dad? You can live on 30 quid a month, tell your mother all you want is shelter and everything else you will pay for, EVERYTHING no one is entirely unreasonable. Tell her you will pay any left over money as rent. I know this is a massive compremise but it beats sleeping rough.

I can't help but notice that you don't seem to reply to posts that actually give good advice. Are you even reading them? I think this will be my last post in the thread, good luck kid.

you could stay over at a freinds.
also, if you do work through this, you never have to help your mum afterwards because of this move.

Ignore the troll.

I don't know what to tell you, apart from the fact that I was kicked out. At 19. Right after they made me pay half for my new room to be built in the garage. Bastards.

But you have my utmost sympathy. Difficult parents are annoying to deal with.

Definitely. If your mum isn't obligated to provide for you, you aren't obligated to help her.

MASSIVE SARCASM ALERT!! DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING IN ANY REGARD FOR ACTUAL ADVICE!

Well, murder is always an option.

END OF MASSIVE SARCASM ALERT!!!!

But seriously , try and reason.
9/10 times a mother can't help but love her child and chances are she just let her emotions get to her.
Wait a little while, let the situation cool down, and try to talk.
Just don't get angry at her, do whatever she says.

Chances are, if she does go through with it, stay at a mates for a day or two.
Probably after that she'll be worried about you and want you back.

A similar thing happened to one of my friends, though she was emancipated... but she's back with her parents now.

Best of luck though, I wish you the best.

Go about intensely readng up on what you will need and motivate yourself to stick to it. This is going to be a big deal but if you work hard now it'll be a whole lot easier later. So go talk to your local jobcentre about the situation and see what is available to you. Find a job and start saving like never before. Then show your mother that you can do whatever you want and still win at life.
