Try to reason with your mother, if it doesnt work and she REALLY means business and doesnt bluff, go to the nearest police station or seek refuge in a realtive's house until she gets real sad and regret it.
I dont know about UK, but here we have those "Citizen service points" where you go and ask for advice on legal and state issues.
Also are you sure your mother is completely sane? It might be a result of her going nuts, you should ask a shrink for advice. Haven't heard of anyone want to kick their children out for these reasons...

You know what? Screw it. You are free now to do whatever you wish. Go and start your own journey, sure it may be hard but if you are strong enough you can make it. Move to another city or another country whatever and pursue your dreams. When all this is over you would have most possibly acquired useful experience, knowledge and whatnot.
If you are not getting this then seek the easy solution. Seek refuge to YMCA or something similar.

long story cut very short:

my mum is throwing me out the house for various reasons i'd rather not list.
I'm 16.
I don't have a job.

alright, i dunno the laws there, but here in the US, legally you can't be kicked out until you're 18 or you can call child services, and get taken care of. i'd say check the law here pretty quick. if she can legally kick you out right now, then aska friend if you can crash there for a bit, and look activly for a job, and offer to pay some rent or for your own food and stuff in exchange for living there, and offer to help out around their house as well.

if that wont work, i had to live at a homeless shelter for awhile near the end of last year, and it wasn't fun, but they give you a place to stay, showers, clothes, and 3 meals a day. if you can't find a friends house to stay at, look for a homeless shelter that has a good reputation. they'll take care of you.

i know it sucks, but just hang in there, keep going to school and looking for a job, and just don't give up on what you're doing. it'll be hard, but you'll be able to pull through, don't worry. again, check the law there as soon as you can, and worst case, look for a friend's house or a shelter.

Because my mum found out what I'm planning to do after my 6th year of high school (I'm in 5th year right now), because I'm planning to go to Download festival, and because my room is messy because I've been clearing out my drawers & stuff. Throwing me out is an over-reaction, I suppose, but she really doesn't give a shit.

I was planning to go to a university near London because it's well known for being good at providing the course I'm after. Moving from Glasgow to London is a pretty big jump for me. This set her off and she told me that I'm "going to need the fucking practice".

uh yeah, one of the things she said to me was "as long as you live under this fucking roof you're not going to Download and if you fucking go, you can get the fuck out of this house. in fact, get the fuck out of this house, i'm fucking sick of the sight of you." etc.

I would let things cool off for a bit and then go back. She's probably doesn't mean it. And if she seriously will not let you go to Download then I would do what she says, because as good as it might be, no festival is worth living on the streets. Just do whatever she says no matter how shit, cause you might be like me and just generally ignore my mother to the stage where she might pull off something like that.

If that doesn't work then shit, do what everone else says and try crash at a mates house while searching for a job. Anyway, good luck and I hope it all gets sorted out.

Not bad advice this. Any country's armed forces takes care of its people pretty well. Only if you can handle it though. It isnt easy.

This might not be something you'd even consider, but its something that hasn't been mentioned much so I thought I'd reiterate. Other than that pretty much anything I can think of has already been said

OCS would be the best option, but thats a school and i think you normally join that after college, at least in the US. But if you do join officer candidate school then that would be ever better pay and better resume and such. but you'd be stuck in the military for a long while so you better get comfy with it
