Oh right, one more possibility is get pregnant, I hear the UK has a kickin welfare system. You will never have to work a day in your life.

Throwing me out is an over-reaction, I suppose, but she really doesn't give a shit.
I got chucked out around that age, I moved into my friends for about a week. Mid week my mother didn't like the whole ordeal and wasn't over reacting any more. Went back into the house after negotiating some rules I had to follow.
But you're 16 and going to Uni, whatever rules they set you won't have to follow for very long.
[small]But even that short amount of time with their new rules I screwed up and just moved out instead.[/small]

My advice being find a friend to let you stay for a week, your mother should come around, if not then get support from government, because staying at your friends for a long time without paying rent will make you quite unpopular.

How about you get some friends, rent an apartment, and share the bill. Like if you have 5 other friends, each of you would pay 5 dollars, if the rent was $30 a month. (Or your preferred currency.)

Same if you have 29 other friends, each of you would pay $1 dollar.

With also the added bonus bringing the stuff you have with you, so if you have a PS3, 360 and a Wii, You and your friends could share it rather than having a clusterfuck of TV's and seperate consoles for each person.

because I'm planning to go to Download festival, and because my room is messy because I've been clearing out my drawers & stuff
Seriously? A tame-sounding music concert; and a messy room?

I don't buy this at all. NO ONE gets truly kicked out for a messy room and plans to attend a concert at 16. You suck it up and don't go to the concert, you have your 18+ years to be an angsty loner and when you live with any parent you submit, gracefully, and bide your time until you are on your own.

Using nail guns on kittens, taxidermy, santeria, beating your siblings half to death, severe drug use, constant theft-- these things could conceivably get you kicked out.

HAI MUM I WANNA GO TO A CONCERT LOL O BTW MY CLOTHS ARE ON THE FLOOR

does not equal kicked out of a house. There are deeper issues here OP is glossing over and is only providing enough information to turn this into a pity party.

I've been in a couple of homeless shelters in Glasgow before, they're not too bad. There's actually a shelter called Sanplaid just down the road from where I work you could look into. Or you could just tidy your room instead of posting on the internet.

EDIT: Thiosk, have you ever actually MET a woman? There is no reasoning with them. They do this kind of irrational shit. I nearly got kicked out for telling a lie one day.

If you do well enough try for whatever the UK's form of OCS is.
OCS would be the best option, but thats a school and i think you normally join that after college, at least in the US. But if you do join officer candidate school then that would be ever better pay and better resume and such. but you'd be stuck in the military for a long while so you better get comfy with it
In most countries as I understand it it's a dual, or triplicate system, you can join out of college, apply within, or in some cases they will give you something like an IQ test and if you score really high they let you join without either. But that last I heard of that actually being done was upwards of 10 years ago, I don't know if that last one is still in operation.

You have my sympathy.

Have you considered molotov cocktaleing your parent's stuff?

Just kidding. Find someone to take care of you. Really, it is an amazingly bad idea to think that you could just find a flat. It's probably just best to stay with a person then just find a job. Then get a flat.

I wish I could help ya, but really, I am in Ireland.

i dont exactly know what you did - but thinking its something terrible, like setting fire to your aunts house i'd probably do something like this:

ponder over my possibilities for some time.
try and talk with both my parents.
(if that doesnt work) ask relatives and friends.
(if that doesnt work) seek work like water in the desert, find the cheapest apartment possible and devote myself to getting out of my current education alive.

or in short - face the facts, learn from your mistake, man up and grow from the hard journey it will send you on.
I did not do anything terrible.
Worst I've ever done is allowing my room to get messy.
I made no mistake. I chose to go to a university far away and I'm not the most tidy of people.
that is ALL i have done wrong.

Her mothers a ***** I presume.
I believe this, this almost happened to me once but the I called the police.

OT: I wish I could help, my only advice is call the police but since you live in Scotland, I can't help.
Crash with a friend/ relative, that's the only other advice I could give.
Best of luck.

Let her cool off and then try to reason with her, she's probably just frustrated and if you give it some time then you can probably work it out

Ok, so here's the plan; go to the nearest charity shop, buy the most homeless-esque clothes you can find (I'm thinking, tartan trousers, some grotty shirt, an old scarf, a trenchcoat and one of those awesome homeless person beanie hats), next trawl round all the bins and grab as many empty beer cans, vodka bottles and the like as you can find (alternatively, buy then drink a load of beer, this is illegal, but you're homeless, the government clearly doesn't care about you, so it's a form of civil disobedience, and therefore completely ok!). Camp out in front of your Mum's house with surrounded by the beer cans in your homeless outfit! It'll shame her into letting you live in her house again!

If it doesn't work at first, remeber to heckle the neighbours. Lots. Beg them for change, chase them down the street and tell them stories about how you're going to be rich some day, and if they help you out now you won't forget it, make inappropriate remarks to anyone (read: everyone) of the opposite gender(read: both genders), and, most importantly, shout at vegetation.

Insanity is fun!

Either your mum is a fucking sociopath or you're omitting something. Until you provide the adequate info I'm going with you doing something bigger than just wanting to go to a concert and having a messy room.

By the way, it's illegal for parents to kick minors out of their house. They are forced to provide a roof over your head. If you have no other option then don't fucking crash on the streets and call child protective services.

...

How could I have been so blind? You are so right. ALL women are batshit insane, obviously, because one kid's mom is presented as over-the-top retarded on an internet forum. I must have just met men in tit-suits throughout my life, because none of the "women" I've ever encountered behaves like this.

And some lies should get you kicked out. "Naw baby, its insulin, i'm diabetic, i swear!"

If this is all the OP did, as OP claims, I seriously doubt BOTH parents would be disowning at present. If I'm wrong, hearty sympathy of course, as some people really are just stupid crazy.

We don't really have a form of OCS
To join the forces as an officer you need to have A-Levels at the very least, preferably a degree.
The chances of being promoted straight out of basic are nil.

After reading your edit, unless you are missing some stuff out, i don't think you have that much to worry about. Your mum may be over reacting now, but give her a day or 2 and she will probably calm down. I very much doubt she would throw you out for not cleaning your room and going to download.
When my sister got thrown out it was because she had become completely unmanageable. Drug abuse, violence etc. And it took months for my parents to finally throw her out.

Call the police and tell them she was molesting you. It might not get you a place to stay, but if you can be convincing she'll go to jail and regret ever messing with you.
