Does the co-op from halos 1&2 work on the Xbox 360? Gears 2 didnt come to the PC so microsoft could force everyone who loved the original on the PC to buy their cursed console. A tactic that seems to have worked.

I would have recommended a PS3 rather than the Xbox simply because there's less crossover between the PC and the PS3 as far as games go if you're planning on jumping into the console realm. Gears of War both 1 and 2 I played through in long marathon sessions at a friends place (Extremely fun co-op, but not the sort of game I'd play on my own.) and I've never been a huge fan of the Halo series. Fable 2 I'm kinda bummed about not playing, but I'll live. And Brutal Legend is on the PS3.

That's pretty much it as far as true 360 exclusives go. Most I can play on my computer, and the rest I don't much care for anyway.

My 360 just RRoD'd not 3 hours ago, and the warranty expired years ago...

You shouldn't have this problem, well I'm off to buy a newer model...
Haven't Miscrosoft got the whole lifetime warranty against the Red ring as it is a problem which affects all Xboxes??
*Checks Microsoft*

You sir just saved me $200...

Hey, don't worry, they been screwing console gamers over with stuff too. Red Rings, pay for the free DLC from Valve, ODST released as a full game, memory cards with half a gig for $40-50, regular memory, $100 wireless adapter, recharge packs that die for good rather quickly, cooling system that requires a fan to help it, different year models have different cords (yes replacing 1 is a hassle), etc.

PC all the way, none of the games you have mentioned I feel even slightly inclined to play.

Where is the mod scene? NOWHERE.
And you get XboxLive fags. You know those annoying pre-teen tools. and those ones that act like annoying pre-teen tools.
And you don't get a mouse and keyboard.
And you don't get to use my BEAST of a computer.

not a fan of zombie games so dead rising is out, whats Crackdown? also anything with strong co-op would be ace. my wife and I love playing games together.
Crackdown is absolutely god-damn fantastic. It's similar to GTA, only you play as a genetically engineered super cop. There pretty much isn't a story, the main focus is just messing around and having fun. Thowing cars at people, throwing people at cars, throwing cars on top of buildings and then driving them off etc. Also, it does support 2 player co-op, although it's only online or system link. It's dirt cheap now, and definitely worth it. Plus, you'll get an invitation to the Halo 3 multiplayer beta included!

Absolutely spot on, it's as shallow as they get. But seriously, don't let that stop you. It's one of the most genuinely fun games I've ever played. I wasn't prepared for how enjoyable it would be to just spend hours jumping from rooftop to rooftop, collecting orbs and pausing occasionally to throw some bad guys off buildings.

More editing!

Yep, the co-op for Halo 1&2 works on 360. The online for halo 2 won't work as of April 15th ( I think) since their shutting Xbox Live for original Xbox down, but the local co-op should still work.

Also, apologies for just spamming your inbox with quote notifications.

Dude, don't make the same mistake I did! Although then again, if you're interested in Halo 3 and Fable 2 you must have a different taste in games than I do, so maybe you're better off with the 360 than I am...

I have been a PC gamer and only a PC gamer since I was a small child playing Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis, but iv finally been persuaded to buy a console by this offer:

http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/13665734/Xbox-360-Elite-Console-+-Halo-ODST-+-Forza-Motorsport-3-+-Gears-of-War-2-+-Fable-II/Product.html

Microsoft have been screwing us PC gamers good over the last few years. We got Halos 1&2 but not 3, Fable but not Fable 2 and Gears of war but not it's sequel. So I'm finally taking the plunge and getting a 360. In addition to the included games I am going to buy Halo 3, Brutal Legend and Halo wars. As the 360 has been out for a few years I thought I would ask those of you who have owned one for a while if there are any other great games I should look into. Bear in mind that if it's also out for the PC I probably already have it, and if I dont id rather get it for the PC anyway. I don't like sports or driving games so dont bother mentioning those. Thanks in advance.
uh... actually... just RENT Brutal Legend. it's not that good of a "keep" game...
Oh yes it is. In my oh-so-humble opinion [sub]that is way better than yours [/sub] Brutal Legend was one of the most interesting, fun, and unique games I have ever played.

Go for the following: Brutal Legend
Halo 3
Fable 2
Gears of War 2
Dante's Inferno (If you like that sort of thing)
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Bioshock 2

That should keep you occupied for a while.

Assassin's Creed 2 is a good game to look into. I doubt you would want it for the PC since its DRM scheme is just completely stupid.
I'm waiting for them to crack it, then it's straight to the pirates bay and start fishing. I'm NOT supporting their idea.

Anyway, buying Xbox? Good for you :) I personally am quite happy with my monolith computer :D Aaaah. PC gamer for life
*cough*

Dunno about dante's Inferno, Just finished Arkham Asylum on my PC (its ace) and Bioshock 2 ill get for the PC. also, whats so bad about halo wars? I know as far as RTSs goes its not great but I like the aesthetic and feel of halo games. As far as what kind of games most interest me, RPGs, Shooters, RTSs and fighting games mostly, tho im also a big fan of oddball games like freelancer and psychonauts.

I'm a PC gamer through and through. I still bought a 360 from my friend for $100. Totally worth it for games like Castle Crashers, 1 vs. 100, Geometry Wars 2, and Netflix. It's a great console.

Everything else, I play on my PC.

Not adding anything to the discussion again but why are people recommending games that are also available for the PC when the OP specifically asked you not to?

It seems like everyone who has recommended a game has included at least one that's also been out on PC.
