If you're going to go the water bottle route, you have to have it ready and nail it RIGHT THEN. You can't go "oh, the cat is meowing at me" and dick around trying to figure out where you left the water bottle. The longer you wait, the more likely it gets confused about why it just got sprayed in the face. I recommend a holster and a high-powered water dispensing unit. Possibly with night sights.

Three times a day? Crap, I feed mine once a day. And it gets what I feed it. This way the cat only antagonizes me in the morning.

On the by, I have a cat that bugs me for food once in a while. I tried the deaf thing. She just starts biting me hard on the ankle if I don't listen.

You fail at quoting my friend.

The problem is that you added an extra / and the end isn't the same as the beggining

mm'kay?

And just to clarify I'm only trying to help you out not to sound condescending or anything.

right now your worst case scenario is that your cat commits arson, burning you to a crisp in your sleep while he/she slips out the back and tries to look as cute as possible right outside your home so the firemen adopt and the cat hopes to get fed well on people food such as pasta and chili.

Most. Win. Title. Ever.

Also, I have to deal with the same thing. So, my only suggestion is just to spray water on him.
Thanks, it seems everyone loves the title which makes me lol whenever it's mentioned.

Also, everyone suggests the water thing, but I have an old cat, it doesn't give a shit about anything unless you accidentally step on it. It doesn't even flinch anymore if you run by it

it probably meows because it wants your attention, your desire to ignore it tells me that you probably try to do so anyway and the cat picks up on this and doesnt like it, after all, would you? its a responcibility of owning a cat to give it that attention, maybe not all the time but occasionally at least. if you want my advice, just pick up your cat every now and then, and stroke it and generally let it know that you care about it, it'll probaly still nag you for attention anyway, but meh, it has to meet you half-way. (sorry for sounding pretentious btw)
I give it attention, but when it follows me into the kitchen and starts bugging me, we all know it just wants food, especially since 90% of the time, if it isn't bothering me for food, it ignores me completely

Why not just feed it?
It's not time to feed it and it's already overweight
Stick the poor cat outside so it can get some exercise and won't want to eat all day long out of boredom.
it's been declawed and is like 12 years old
So? If you have a yard let it out in the backyard it won't go far.
No fences and it's too lazy to go out anyway, it lies on the heating vent all day and doesn't even try to play or do anything when we try and play with it.
It's not to lazy to go out. It never tries to go outside because you never let it go outside. I had to start throwing my cat outside when I first got him before he actually wanted to go outside. Spent the almost the entirety of the first year alive in the same apartment.

We used to take it outside quite often and let it hang out and it was never very interested and would just come back inside to the warmth/cool climate of the house

I used to work with cats. I realised two things, theres no such thing as good in this world and the best way to piss off a cat is to cuddle it. Cuddle that ***** hard.

I used to have 2 cats, both grew 'til the age of 3 when we had to give them away because of my nan's new found allergies. The slim one would slap me in the face while I slept, nuzzle my nose and meow down ear to wake me up ridiculous o'clock.
Why? 1 word: FOOD!
My friend's cats are real cute and don't bother us, just cuddles up, they are the only good cats I've ever known.
But if the two start fighting, we point at their faces and do the most annoying sound in the world from "Dumb and Dumber." EAAAGGHH!

It'll probably just think you're a prick.

I think deafness may be too complicated an idea for a cat to have.

I just had a really mean thought, that I've had before.
Your cat is meowing constantly at you, so you pick it up and carry it over to...
The top of a conveniently placed Skyscraper, and kick it off, its meowing slowing echoing away,
"MEEEEOOOooooowww..." Yup, I'm sick.

If you're deaf it'll have to resort to clawing you to get yer attention. Cats are like that.

Just make sure it always has a bowl full of dry food, it's what I do with my cat.

Buy it a treadmill that dispenses food every few miles, and don't feed it otherwise.
It would starve to death.

It already doesn't like me very much and ignores me most of the time, so I don't really have anything to lose

You have to be very careful with cats. You must let them see that you are more poweful than them or they will try to murder you in your sleep.
I lost a whole platoon to cats in 'Nam...god, the hissing...

I once lost a staring contest to a cat. It cheated by punching me in the face. True story.
