OT: Minecraft is a true sandbox. The only real objective is to survive. You can find most of the recipes on the Minecraft wikia.

Anyway, yeah, you basically make whatever the hell you want. I spawned on an island and made an awesome lighthouse, an entire cobblestone path around it, and a little wooden dock. Planning on making a boat and heading out eventually. Still got plans to continue work my island though.

using some wood, make a wood pickaxe. You can then use that to make a stone pickaxe, to mine for iron and stuff. I mined an assload of stone to make a big-ass castle on top of the next mine I found, which has some iron and coal in it.

When digging down, make it a 1x2 hole, and NEVER break the block you're standing on. Make sure to lay down ladders every other block (you don't need to place them on every piece). When you reach the bottom, open up the cavern a little bit and make a toolbench. Now to the actual mining.
1. Never dig stone with iron. It's a waste of a pick you can use on better blocks like diamond and redstone.
2. As far as a mining method, you're going to want to dig a straight, 1x2 tunnel as far as you want in any direction. Now you're going to dig 1x2 tunnels branching out from the first tunnel, and spaced 3 blocks apart. In other words, walk forward 3 spaces, on the fourth, start digging to the left a certain distance, then dig to the right. This is the most efficient mining method, next to exploring caverns.

then divide by zero, or dig down till you hit the other side of the world, you'll hit blocks that people call bedrock etc, but if you use a diamond pick axe on them for say, about 20 minutes it breaks it then your at the centre of the games world, its said to be flat but it's really spherical then if u keep digging you'll be in Australia or chinaKuchinawa212 said:
