If bronies can have pony threads on The Escapist then i don't see why i can't make a thread discussing spaghetti.

In fact i'm going to create one right now.
Go right ahead. Seriously, I'll happily participate.

It was a good season overall. Not as consistently good as my favorite season thus far (Season 2), but still noteworthy. It had a fair number of "meh" moments ("Too many Pinkie Pies," "Magic Duel," "Wonderbolts Academy"), but the episodes that were good were FANTASTIC, like "Sleepless in Ponyville," and "Keep Calm and Flutter On" (more Luna and Discord/John de Lancie, yay!)

For the record, I loved the finale. Yes it felt rushed at times and may have been better off as a two-parter, but the music...oh, the music...!

That scene alone catapulted the episode into "god tier" territory for me. Celestia seriously needs to sing more often.

Admittedly, I'm a sucker for musicals.

OK, three pages in and no EternalNothingess? I'm getting concerned...

OT: I don't watch MLP:FiM so I can't judge on it. I just come to the pony threads because of EN.

The finale was the embodiment of what was wrong with this season. It was clearly rushed. I'm not bailing on this show yet but hopefully the next season will get some time for the writers to get back into their groove.

Also, Transformers Prime is getting a shortened season and its supposed to be the last one as well.
*sigh*

Lets make this short:
Most episodes felt like two episodes forced into one.
Finale was the EPITOME of this.
For a 'kids show aimed at little girls'...I'm STILL amazed at how GOOD it is.

Hmmm.... I haven't seen the final episode yet, but.....

Yay: The 2ed & 3ed to last episodes intertwining. Spike cracks me up. Cutie Mark Crusaders are always a joy. Everything about "Too Many Pinkie Pies" & "Just for Sidekicks," & "Wonderbolts Academy" made Rainbow Dash a bit more likable (Dash, Fluttershy, & Rarity are my least favorite of the Mane 6), & lastly trying to spot the dated pop culture references thrown in for the adult audience (remember last season when Twilight was dressed like Solid Snake?)

Boo: "Keep Calm & Flutter On" was very disappointing; Not only did we not get Flutterbitch, but do you see Picard winning over Q with the Power of Friendship? Twilight Sparkle not loosing her shit in the 2ed to last episode. I like my ponies crazy thanks. The return of the gaudy magic jewelry. I hate it when they sing, but it's still infinitely better than the singing in Adventure Time.

There was the whole talk of bringing Derpy into the limelight & then shoving her even further in the dark because some insensitive assholes didn't like to be reminded that retarded people exist & that they shouldn't be represented on TV, even though she's technically only cockeyed & it makes her clumsy. (I'd also like to point out to Derpy supporters that Change.org is strictly for animal welfare, human rights, women's rights, & environmental & political issues & not the right place to put up a petition about a cartoon).

The show is also calling a Pegacorn a Alicorn. An Alicorn is a type of medieval unicorn with a deer's head, boar's tail, & elephant feet. Other's say the alicorn is just the horn itself. ::Took a mythology class in highschool::

Overall, S3 was a mixed bag.

The good: Wonderbolt Academy, One Bad Apple, Keep Calm and Flutter On, Sleepless in Ponyville, Magic Duel, Magical Mystery Cure and (very tentatively) Just for Sidekicks.
The bad: None of them were really "bad" as such, more like the next category.
Indifferent: Everything else.

Finale was mostly ok, but suffered the tell-tale signs of being rushed to buggery. Needed to be drawn out longer and possibly ended on some sort of cliffhanger or foreshadowing. I was honestly expecting to see some reference to Sombra, or perhaps hear Chrysalis' laugh before the credits, but nope.

No, what this season needed was more Chrysalis.
This. A thousand times, this.

We need more Gilda as griffins are undeniably awesome.

S3 was cool. Suffered from being short, but not much you can do seeing as S4 is confirmed for 26 new episodes. Because it was so short, it made the mediorce-average episodes stand out much more. We had okay episodes in the first two seasons but we tended to forget them because there were more awesome episodes.

But, I'm only here for cute pones, and S3 did an great job at that, so I'm content.

I was down on this season until 'Games Ponies Play' came out. That episode confirmed to me the writers and animators also weren't very happy about the show being hijacked. At least I hope that's what they were trying to say. Otherwise god help us all.
