My friend's little sister is currently dating a complete loser who spent a year in prison for raping a 12 year old. No job, no intelligence, no fun, no car, ugly, boring. He hasn't hit her but he seems to be gainign success off a badboy image despite not seemingly do anything to warrant being called a bad boy. He has a scooter as opposed to a Harley Davidson for Christs sake.

In fairness to the guy he was 15 and it was consensual, but the law doesn't see it that way, obviously it takes that into account as it was only a one year sentence. Probably Juvenile Hall/Young Offenders Institute.

1. I was married to a real ***** for almost 5 years. She kept falsifiying police reports against me, and with SRS, almost had me put on a federal list of child abusers. Cheated on me every night with over 30 people last time I counted. (no not at the same time, though I'm sure a few were) Stole just about every penny we had, or should say spent it all at the bar and who knows where. And the list goes on and on. Finally had enough of it and divorced her and got custody of my 3 kids. Only reason I stayed so long was that she would use the kids against me saying that she'd take em and leave.

2. Equality of the sexes..... Ok. don't get me wrong here, I am not condoning violence unless it's a movie or game, but if a woman is hauling off beating on me or someone else, I will hit back. It's self defense or defending another person. I don't think that only the guy should get into legal trouble over it. If women want to be considered equal as men then they should be able to take a nice full force back hand to the jaw if they think it's ok to be hitting others themselves. It's only fair. And NO I don't do that myself or ever had too, I'm just saying..

My mom married my dad. And then she wouldn't divorce him for fear that her kids wouldn't have a dad. Children Need A Father, she thought. Well, we needed that father like we needed AIDS. As in, not really.
Small world, huh?

Yeah, same here.

a REAL MAN does NOT hit a woman!!!!
A REAL man doesn't hit anyone or anything.A REAL MAN can talk things over,be diplomatic, and generally stay calm when things around him start yelling.
And when a situation has progressed beyond talking or diplomacy? What then?
Then you either attack and apprehend the threat as soon as possible with minimal injuries. But in self defense of course.
Or you could just cheese it.Which works a lot better if you know that you will lose.

My friend has this habit of going out with several girls, not at the same time, but he usually doesn't last long between breakups before he goes out with another girl.

You can probably see from where the problem stems, I slightly worry where this path will lead him, especially since we've been friends for 13 of my 18 years.

And then there's another friend I have who works as a stripper and is dating a late 20 year old.

Harassment is illegal where you live right? so this should be Police business since he's been hitting her? And besides, I'd like to throw a few punches at this guy, a REAL MAN does NOT hit a woman!!!!
Im not sure, I believe in equal opportunities and rights, so if a woman randomly came up to me and hit me around the face id give her one warning. Then, if she hit me again, I would sock her back.

Equality is a double edged sword ladies.....

Why the hell hasn't anyone gone to the police? If he's hitting her for gods sake get her some help! Even if she doesn't want it get her the hell away from him! Just because they're in a relationship doesn't stop assault being assault! Things like that end up with people in body bags...

My then-best friend started dating this girl who is now like a sister to me. Me, him and her were walking to his house, and we were playing the Yellow Car game, where you punch someone when you see a yellow coloured car. If I hit her when I saw a yellow car, I would just tap her on the shoulder. He wouldn't hold back even on his own girlfriend, and would punch as hard as she could. She ended up standing behind me so he wouldn't hit her. Don't know if he hit her again during that brief relationship, but seeing him do that was just wrong.
Sounds like she shouldn't have been playing if she didn't want to get hit.
After he hit her the first time she said that she wanted to stop playing, then he still kept on hitting her. He gets overexcited easily and will show it
Ah that's different a different story then. But it sounds like an issue that could be easily fixed with a good talk if he's just excitable and not an asshole.

I am sorry I never really had anything like that in my life, so I can't add much to your question, but I do have one little idea to help your friend. Have an Intervention. Get a proffessional and speak to her, confront her. It proboly won't work, but it might. There is basically that or wait till the guy beats her to the point of death (or beyond that point) and getting his #%@ thrown in jail.

Personally this person doesn't sound like a psychopath... just to undermine you. He sounds exactly like a person you described, mean and with a short temper. A psychopath would be a great husband because he'd be manipulative in all the right ways, and would ultimatly be good until he reached the end of his wife being useful... in which case he'd dispose of her. Now that being said, because hes not actually a psychopath, it means he has feelings, and perhaps she sees something deeper in him than you do, so let her continue with her life...

I don't think you have the right definition. You're looking at Pacifist. And a man should throw a punch if the case demand it.

intervention, tell her she has to get the fuck out because your worried about her, and do not want to be coming to take her to the hospital at 2am because he beat her half to death. Tell her she's worth more. I've seen it work, on friends who where addicts, treat it like she is doing any other destructive behavior.
Worst comes to worst you will be there every time something goes wrong and she will eventually realize what she's done...
sucks, but you got to be there to pick up the pieces, and tell her she needs to stop.

So, Escapists: Have you ever had a friend or family member do something as stupid as this?
Not friend or family. Though as a beat cop... domestic assault calls are one of the most common calls you get. And a lot of times it's the same couples. Over and over and over and over and over.

My aunt married my uncle because she thought it would help him get over his alcoholism. It did not. He spent his whole life thinking the world had done him wrong, drinking to fix it, and eventually died of liver failure (though he was sober his last two years) While he was not abusive physically or verbally. He did say to my aunt they were too old to have kids when they got married at age 30 and was basically a worthless lump with a filthy cowboy hat. So my aunt never got to have children and it still hurts her to this day I think. Though she became very close to me and all my brothers instead.

The man she is married to now is a much much nicer man but... err... well he's a lot like being related to the 'wacky neighbor' on a sitcom. It's very bizzare. That's a whole nother thread.
I'll try my best to some him up in a few words
