If you make money as an entertainer that's fine. I don't see why people have so much of a problem with it. Though some of these people don't actually do anything noteworthy.
Each case is different to me.
1. Shane Dawson - $315,000
Average videos, very little effort. If he makes money, great, but 315 grand a year? the fuck?
2. The Annoying Orange - $288,000
He makes worse videos with slightly more effort. When your premise is something that's supposed to be annoying, that's never a good sign.
3. Philip DeFranco - $181,000
I don't mind this. He makes a news show, and being as I find it more interesting and informative than the actual news, he deserves some credit. Plus in addition to cinematics to a certain extent, he has to do a shit ton of research. So his job consists of newscastor/opinions columnist writer/research/public speaker and the result comes out good. I can't complain that he makes a living off of it. If this where Ray William Johnson on the other hand...
4. Ryan Higa - $151,000
I hate his videos, but he does put some sort of effort into them. He's overrated, but at least he isn't...
5. Fred - $146,000
Fuck this kid. Seriously. Literally any human being on the planet with a video camera and windows movie maker can do what he does.
6. Shay Carl - $140,000
I've seen a few of his videos. from what I've seen the skits that he puts effort into have very high production value. No problems here
7. Mediocre Films - $116,000
I don't think this number is accurate. This guy only has like, 50,000 subscribers and his videos all have like, 10,000 views or under. I don't know how he would be making that much money. Don't like his stuff. There's effort, but not nearly enough of it.
8. Smosh - $113,000
I can see why they have a following, and their videos are well made. I just don't think they're funny. Still, they put in the effort and they deserve some compensation
9. The Young Turks - $112,000
This is a news show. Like actually a news show. They have all the equipment and the set and everything. Plus that money gets split between everyone who works there, so they would actually be underpaid were they not sponsored already.
10. Natalie Tran- $101,000
Don't like. She does some unfunny skits and lame vlogs. Not a fan.
