i guess California is still as ass-backwards as ever, especially since it was SHOWN that this would generate tax revenue for the government that they could have given to schools or to fixing roads.
EDIT: Removed some stuff to force people to discuss the ACTUAL ISSUE and not troll on me.

Google "America 1920 Prohibition" and I think you'd be rather surprised at how much people hate not being able to drink.FreelanceButler said:I think it's a good thing. Due to my lack of experience in the big, wide world, I don't like the idea of drugs being legal. I think we should make stuff like smoking and drinking illegal instead of making some less dangerous stuff legal. Just because it's not as harmful doesn't exactly make it good for you, does it?
Oh don't get me wrong, I read his case. He made plenty of good points which I'd be inclined to agree with, even if they were based on what, to me at least, is a rather pessimistic outlook.Dango said:And you're forgetting... well... everything else he wrote... Christ, NO, I said this MULTIPLE times. I'm merely stating the fact that it is addictive to an extent (yes that's right, I'm standing by my argument, and you can stand by yours) not that it should be banned. Not once did I EVER say that these things should be banned because they are addictive. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with something being addictive. And for the last time, my original argument was not about whether marijuana is addictive, but about Prop 19 itself. I couldn't care less about how addictive marijuana is, or anything else for that matter.Gaz6231 said:Samus Aaron said:So you're trying to tell me that it is physically impossible to get addicted to marijuana?
Yep, that's pretty much exactly what I'm trying to tell you. Marijuana has never been proven to have any physically addictive properties.
It is possible to get addicted to literally anything if said thing is used repeatedly, even things like television, which is not physically consumed.
Then I guess by your stance we should make any further TV technology illegal?
Man, tell me about it. I feel like a leper just because I like a cigarette now and then.nonl33t m4st3r said:Try again when you can smoke in a bar again. Smoking anything makes you practically a pariah these days.

That wasn't sarcasm, btw. People made a decision. It may or may not be the right one, but it's A decision

I'm not asking you if you think ostriches are good poker players, what I'm asking is do you, or do you not, support the irrefutable evidence that early judeo-christian cultures used cannabis oil in anointing ceremonies? Because if you do, your entire argument up to this point becomes invalid. I was asked why I don't support the bill this was the only thing I can pull to mind. After reading the little voting info pamphlet I ended up voting yes because of all the things it would do. (Brains before heart and all that good stuff)I think we see this bill pushed through legislation again and put back up to vote as soon as possible and I think in the future the margin will grow smaller and smaller until it passes. (I know nothing of the American law system so I don't know if this is even possible)Ham_authority95 said:I don't see why anyone is surprised. Marijuana is still too much of a taboo thing in our culture for a bill like this one to pass.

Well the problem with that is if more people were properly informed it wouldn't have gone that way regardless if they are fans of weed or not. I have no interest in it, but there are plenty of pros for legalization, financial and otherwise, and basically no cons.yanipheonu said:I just hope a lot of the votes were informed and not "DURRRRR Mary-joo-wanna is bad I'd better say no"

I'm for legalization, but I can't say there aren't any cons. For instance, I think it's hard to argue that DUI's would see a big increase as well as other crimes. Not to mention the fact that the FBI can still crack down on you.Bon_Clay said:I have no interest in it, but there are plenty of pros for legalization, financial and otherwise, and basically no cons.
I'm bothered by it and don't vote. I CANNOT vote. Remember there is an age requirement on voting. We can still care about the issues though.Celtic_Kerr said:So you didn't vote, but you're complaining about the outcome? You realize if you DID vote you could have made a difference, and I can guarantee the people who fall into the "I don't vote" category is huge. People who don't vote shouldn't complain about the outcome. You didn't do your part to make a difference, or even attempt to, so why should you be bothered about how it went?
