So, Spider-Man 4 is official, Thoughts? Concerns? Rants?

I thought that Mr. Maguire was tired of making Spider-Man films after the third one. As long as they add Carnage and the Lizard, I'll probably see it.

Actually there is going to be 7 Pirates movies.

And I thought SM4 was confirmed right after SM3? SM4 is going to have Carnage, which is one of the coolest comic villians ever.

This. Carnage is absolute win.


I think they'll go with Lizard, though I'd like to see Man-Spider (though that would obviously have to be a sub-plot).

I think they need to fire tobey maguire. He's the worst actor ever. I don't care if he is Peter Parker, firing him will do more good then the bad done by having a new actor for a main character. Also, Mysterio should be in the movie.

Honestly, if you wanted to make the Spiderman films better in my eyes you would need to do a couple of simple things. It doesn't involve the villains or the story. First off is the biggest issue. Toby Maguire is just not right for the role. I don't have a huge problem with him, he's just not Peter Parker. Peter Parker is extremely smarmy. The more smarmy banter that Spidey has, the better. Its one of the reasons why he's such a great character. In addition, the Spiderman, they portray isn't Spidey. Spidey is the sort of gangly, loose hero who's movements actually look kind of spider-like when he swings. Spiderman in the films is built, no gangle. It just... doesn't look right. In the same way Kirsten Dunst is just... not Mary-Jane.

Then I guess you have to pick the right villains. Interesting ones. Kraven is pretty cool. Vulture had some good stuff going. I was always a big fan of Kingpin and Smythe, but I guess that was more the 90s cartoon than the comics I'm basing it off of.

On a basic level, the movies just need better casting. The people they pick just aren't right for the roles.

Well I'm to lazy to read all five pages of this put what i have to say is that they should use carnage, will they? Maybe, will they ruin him as they ruined Venom, most definitely. What social classification is Peter Parker going to get into this time?

Anyone think that maybe the guy who plays the Comedian in Watchmen would be cool for Kraven?
(Im not a big comic buff, so i don't really know much about Kraven and some of the villains, but Kravens the big hunter dude right?)

I didn't read the topic so excuse me if this came up, but I've got a Spider-Man book where Norman Osbourne comes back after and "extended stay in Europe", supposedly forgetting he was the goblin. Turned out to be a good story arc.
