do you know the purpose of laws? it was rationalized long ago that laws would prevent chaos and allow people to live better and fuller lives.Gladion said:In that case I should go and kill you now.MaxTheReaper said:Here's the bigger question: Do I care.
MmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmNO.
Who cares if it's against the law? Laws are pointless.
Besides, I hardly believe this really is the bigger question to others :]

My second thought was "Why aren't we following this anymore?"Most of "his" laws involve not straying from the path, or whatever.seydaman said:god is code was so good and simple! doesn't mean i'll stop braking it...
Actually, I don't remember the Commandments.
Nor do I care to.
Actually it's still a bit of a gray area because different countries have different laws. The above statement might be true in Denmark or Sweden or wherever the The Pirate Bay is based, but rulings from courts in the U.S. and other countries could yield different results depending on the arguments put up in those courts. Whether torrents themselves are deemed legal or illegal would be determined by those rulings, and would cement the consensus among judges for future cases, unless a law were passed of course.taloz said:I think torrents themselves are legal using them to access illegal files are not

You may still be in breach of copyright law regardless of whether the copyright owner is making any money off of it or not. You probably knew that; I'm just clarifying your statement.ZeroMachine said:A torrent for a movie that someone made and is making no money off of (like indie movies and the like) is fine.

Exactly, and if we still had the punishments help in the town square like they did back then, we wouldn't need professional sports to keep the normal people entertained and not rioting.MaxTheReaper said:Seriously, when I learned about it, I was like "This is the greatest idea ever."Glerken said:Mmhm, we should just go back to Hammurabi's code.MaxTheReaper said:snip
