Also putting my support on the get rid of the crap-tastic RE5 "Zombies"

When I did play through 5, I did find it fun, but only as long as I didn't think of it as a Resident Evil game (Which was quite easy considering everything looks like they're trying to eat live octapii) though I still prefered RE3 due to the tension I'd get walking around.

Also considering I've just finished re-watching all the films I'd like a story that could lead to a -not sucky 3D cash in- sequel to Afterlife.

Well they could go completely innovative and make it so you move and shoot.
But hey the series is not my thing I prefer to be terrified by game content rather then it's controls.

I'm both happy and sad to hear they are making a sixth installment. On the one hand, I love Resident Evil. It's one of my favorite series of all time. On the other hand, they really are going off on tangents and destroying what made Resident Evil interesting. So, what do they need to do/not do for RE6, in my opinion, are as follows:

*S crape co-op entirely and any notion of a "multiplayer". Focus on making it an incredibly good single player experience like it was when it first started. There's a reason the multiplayer RE's didn't work...

* Scrape these gun-wielding villagers, las plagas (Even though Resident Evil 4 was great) and return to the roots of the series. You know, use zombies again? While Resident Evil 4/5 were entertianing, they weren't scary. Resident Evil 4 let me carry an entire arsenal of weapons and more ammo than a small platoon, making me fear nothing, and Resident Evil 5 so damn bright, I thought I'd get a sunburn from being out in the sun so long.

* Bring back the original T-virus storyline. We get it, the virus spread over the world and is being used as a weapon. That's horribly boring and I already play that storyline in 20 other games. Stop.

* Wesker...the hell...he is slowly turning into some invincible one-man army with what they are doing to him. Knock it off. Seriously...stop it Capcom.

* Ditch the clunky AI partners. Solo horror, is better horror.

That's all I can think of for now. I think if the series keeps mutating off their older counterparts, I think the series is just going to turn into an even more convoluted mess.

What I think needs fixed? Keep the controls of RE4&5, the inventory of RE4, and put that into games like RE1, 2, and 3. Think of how much better it would be for to one hit kill a zombie with a bullet to the head, like almost all games and movies and books say.

Give us back the suitcase inventory from RE4 and stop making armour take up space in the inventory when you're wearing it.

Give us a quick-select feature for the suitcase, let us assign a button on the d-pad for them.

Pacing and length need to come back. Make it scary.

Hire people that can write better than Stephanie Meyer. I'll grant that's almost every other writer out there but still.

I hate the over-the-shoulder gunning but that tradition at this point so I'll let it slide. The emphasis needs to be survival horror.

Make dying really fucking easy. Abandon co-op. Have ammo very limited while having a large arsenal of weapons to choose from to make people have to drop their weapon for something shitty just to survive. In survival horror you shouldn't have the ability to kill every last mob you see, you should be dreading stumbling across a monster.

However, if they don't have HUNK in Mercenaries, well...

bring back shambling zombies resource management and being alone Id like to be able to run and shoot at the same time.

not so fussed over puzzles though. NO QUICK TIME EVENTS NONE EVER.

MAYBE the ability to go first person to aid aiming like in the MGS series.

short out the inventory a couple of clips or a key do not take up the same space as rifle

The ability to move and shoot, and the run system needs fixed. No stupid run button. Press forward fully to run, slightly to walk. When aiming, you can only walk so enemies can actually do something.
They also need to fix the nonsense where the enemies runs at you, until they get a certain distance then they start walking slowly and menacingly.

They need to make Resident Evil 4 with real zombies. Every aspect of gameplay from RE4 should remain intact because it was perfect. The shooting, the inventory, the money and treasures, the upgrades. Everything was PERFECT!

I'd say the only thing they need to change from Resi 5 would be the layout of the maps.

Apart from a few areas in the first few chapters, most of the game was just corridors. It got quite annoying towards the end.

At the end of the first level, there was quite a few different houses that you could use to defend you're self... I'd like more of that in a new resi game.

I know this'll be a futile request, but you can't maintain the scare-factor by adding an online buddy.

The gameplay mechanics of Resi4 were brilliant, just take that and put it in a scary environment. Something in a dark, ominous forrest with chest-high mist so you can't see what's lurking beneath. See, it's easy!

They should take it back to the horror, exploration and puzzles and away from brainless FPS. I think they struck the right balance with Resident Evil 4.

I was horribly bored when playing RE5 it just felt like a mindless shooter. May aswell go and play House of the Dead or something :/

NO DUMB ASS PARTNER! Two player is fine, but with no 2nd player that ally just vanishes. Will have to be a new storyline at this point, Umbrella and Wesker are done for good at this point.
