I picked up Magicka and Oblivion.
I'll probably pick up some more stuff in the coming days. But I'll most likely splurge on some Mann Co. Crate Keys.

I'm hoping The Witcher will be on sale. Strangely enough, Yahtzee's review of it made me want to play it, although I'm not sure why. Otherwise, there aren't really any games I want out right now. It depends on what other games are put on sale at ridiculously low prices. All I know is that no matter what my plans, I won't walk out of this one in one whole. Or at least my wallet won't.

Actually, come to think of it, I've been tenatively willing to try one of the Warhammer 40K games after seeing a few parodies and somehow becoming interested ("The Codex Astartes calls this manuver.. DEEP STRIKE!").

The day the Steam Summer Sale starts, I happen to be rewarded £200 into my bank account for services to tedium. This can hardly be a coincidence. I must honour fates wishes and expend a some of that on gorging my HDD until it vomits awesome everywhere.

I haven't quite decided but this is a tentative list:

The FEAR collection.
Star Ruler
DarkStar One
Recettear
Amnesia
Terraria
Penny Arcade Adventures Episodes
Borderlands GotY
Torchlight
Some of the id Super Pack (Maybe the entire thing)
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Jedi Knight I & II
Starfighter
KOTOR (Lost my old copy to a child...)
Just Cause 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Magicka Complete
Killing Floor Complete
The Longest Journey + Dreamfall

Might buy more than those, might buy less. That's just a speculative list based on what's caught my attention. Oblivion GotY with all DLC for under £7 is awesome, but it's a shame Oblivion ran from Steam can't use obse.

I'm sticking to what's on the Mac. I sort-of wish I had waited for the Valve Complete Pack, which is a steal at $50, but the entire Left 4 Dead and Half-Life series don't really entice me since I already have HL2E2, Portal 1 and 2, and TF2.
What I got are The Final Moments of Portal 2 and Bit Trip Runner.

BTW, Guild Wars avatars FTW.
edit: got Garry's Mod today, July 4
edit 2: got And Yet It Moves and Caster on July 5

Depends on how soon my pay check co- ...
Oh who am I kidding? If they go cheap enough:
Terraria
Alice: Madness Returns
FEAR 3 (doubt it will go on sale)
Portal 2
Unreal Deal Pack
Crysis 2... oh wait... nevermind...

And probably other games... After this sale I'm going to try to cut myself off for the year (minus Rage that I already paid for, Serious Sam 3, and possibly Nuclear Dawn and/or Red Orchestra 2).

Already bought every Dawn of War and everything else from the THQ hits pack. Although I only got that because it was 10$ more than buying all the Dawn of War 2 games and even then I still don't want Homefront, Metro 2033, Red Faction Guerrila, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadows of Chernobyl, Saint's Row 2, or MX vs ATV Reflex. Yep a lot of extras I'll never play just like the last sale when I bought the valve pack. If anyone wants any of them let me know.
l'll take Saint's Row 2 off your hands if you want. :D :D

Isn't buying anything before the 10th risking the game going on a daily deal? Besides impatience, (or a desperate need for prize tickets) is there any downside to waiting?

EDIT: Just got Braid, PB Winterbottom, Bob came in pieces, ben there dan that, shatter, time gentlemen and VVVVV.

I'm also thinking about Swords and Soldiers and Deus Ex 1, could someone that's played them tell me about them?
Swords and Soldiers is a really simple but fun RTS. The interface has been reduced down to just choosing when to build your units and then just letting them run to the other side of the map on their own. You do get to cast some spells to help them out though. That's what makes all the difference. Silly humor is nicely injected into it too.

DE1 is (as I'm sure you have heard countless times) an amazing game. The problem with it is it was really hard for me to get into and understand what the game was asking of me. Should I try stealth? Should I assault? No to either, because the stealth mechanics didn't make much sense, and then I didn't have enough ammo either for assaulting. It took until last year where a friend and I would take turns dying until we figured out what was going on. THEN it was awesome. It just took a bit of effort for it to click with me, so I suddenly had enough ammo and could sneak around entire levels without killing or even KOing a single enemy.

EDIT: I was going to complement you on getting VVVVVV. I fucking love that game. Bob Came in Pieces on the other hand I hated so much. Maybe it gets better, but the mechanics that were being introduced just seemed so weak.

I just purchased Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale, on steam for the low, low price of £3.50.

I can say I'm enjoying it very much especially for that price. I think it was the only one out of the whole lot that can run on my computer, so i'm not getting any of the others. I Just hope they give more price cuts to games that are not very graphically demanding.

Capitalism, Ho!
agreed, it's a great buy!

Railoworks DLC is on sale.

Seriously, that is the single greatest deal in all history.

I found out I can't get rid of any of them since the THQ pack was bought for me so none of them could be gifted now. Sorry.

The only game I'm really planning on buying sometime during the sale is Frozen Synapse. I'll probably split the difference with a friend, or if it goes even cheaper than the US$16.74 price, I might just buy it on my own and gift the second copy to an interested friend.
