So... what's your opinion on dogs?

I love dogs; at home we have a Golden Retriever (who's insane) and a German Shepherd (who tries to round up the other on occasion). They're just so cute.

Annoying. Time consuming. Needy. Occasionally violent.

Cats are infinitely better.

Ah, so instead of occasionally violent dogs, you prefer constantly violent cats. I see.

What do you think I think of dogs?

Ermm... don't take this the wrong way, but is that dog overweight?

She's half-corgi. They look like that even without the Terrier giving her slightly longer legs. She's supposed to be that fat. Don't worry, my entire family jokes about it.

Dogs are just wonderful creatures. They are loyal, unselfish and beautiful, and soft and furry!

Dogs are great. But if you try having cats, then dogs are just ok afterwards.
As pets for petting they start to pale when you have tried cats.

Why is it on the thread about children there's hate by the bucket-load, yet on a thread about dogs, which are basically dumb animals bred to look and act like children enough to activate people's nurturing sides, almost every post is one of love?

Personally, I have no problem with those who love dogs but I'd take a real child over a psuedo-child dog any day. Interesting though, food for thought for anyone who thinks the world is becoming over-populated: due to their high meat consumption dogs are actually a large strain on resources and so it's arguable that its immoral to keep a dog when there is still humans going hungry all over the world.

I'm more of a cat person than a good, probably because cats are less maintenance than dogs. I have two cats and one dog in my house, and the dog is much more work. Cats are happy enough if you feed them regularly. Dogs want constant attention, exercise and love, and while I can give the last one easily enough, the other two would be a stretch.

Still, if I had to I could probably be the best dog owner EVA!
