Tis true. With TK you can fly because you can elevate yourself. You can pick pockets using your mind, get rich easily. You can deflect anything that comes your way, you are almost completely invincible and have power over anything and everything

I wouldn't want it not to hurt, otherwise how do you know you're even alive? Pain adds a risk, excitment... if you're totally invincible, you'd most likely end up being rather bored (See Rising Stars by J.M.C. for a good example).

For practical or even vaguely useful reasons, I can't pick a superpower. Telekinesis might be fun, but I'd probably find some way to mess it up.

In the 'Useless but Awesome' category, I'd have to go with flight. But only if I get wings and am able to pick and routinely change the shape and color of them. Sure, they'd be inconvenient for clothing, but they would make everything I do completely badass. And if they got distracting or in the way I could just turn them into mini wings.
