Society of Justice 3: Crisis on the Earth

Tyson walked out of the ship and went to Mordtoten's cellar. Upon arriving in the basement Tyson heard all the death threats being uttered at Mordtoten. Knowing that death threats normally makes a person more nervous and likely to screw up Tyson walked up to him. "

As long as you get me into a body so I can actually talk in, I'll make sure no one kills you.

" Appeared on the visor followed by a smiling emoticon. Tyson took a spot with the rest of the team and began waiting for the switch to take place.

"Fine, you take the baby then! Ignore my ten years volunteering at the daycare center at the university I taught! See he even wants to go back to me! It's a curse with children I say!" Mordtoten exclaimed as he waited for everyone to be in position, frowning at all the death threats (though he did sigh a breath of relief when he read Tyson's visor message).

"You know I could just fuck your lives over even more so I'd say you should be nicer to me. I mean, it's like all of you despise me!" Mordtoten said, Leland-Brian and Ethan-Jason both chiming in saying they don't hate him, "Well at least that's around three people in the world who don't hate me. Oh and person who's in the body with the extreme 'most common super power' this place is fucking spotless. Even all the mess you guys made after getting your new bodies has been completely cleaned already. Now is everyone ready because soon enough I'm just going to flip the switch and hope for the best!"

"Wait, what?! I just saved this cutie! Why would I want to hurt him?" Marrissa cried in defense and confusion, not understanding why Lilian-Katie was so hostile towards her all of a sudden.

"I think she was referring to Mordtoten, sis!" Jason-Garrus called out from his position, not actually able to see his sister.

"[sup]But I have the baby now...[/sup]" She said softly as she played with Renton's little fingers.

"Also, I don't actually have a problem with you Mordy! You mean well, i'm sure. You just have a habit of annoying us, is all. I sure you don't mean to do it, you just do (well, I hope the whole 'beach incident' was an accident)." Jason added, awaiting the imminent body-switch.

"What happened at the beach?" Marrissa quietly asked the Professor curiously.

"Mordtoten, do not tell her! Last I checked, she was into yaoi! And that baby will be scarred for life!" Jason added irritatedly.

Levi reluctantly stepped in front of the Juicer and looked around at everyone else. "Okay, guys, let's get this over with," he said hesitantly. This experience was bound to be extremely unpleasant, but it was the only way to go. Levi gazed down the barrel of the gigantic machine for a moment before turning to Mordtoten. "I'm ready when you are," he told him, wanting the scientist to just pull the damn switch. Victor could return any second, and Levi was the only one who could hold him back.

"Well now she's going to know exactly what you're talking about," Brialex pointed out to Jason-Garrus. "You should have just kept quiet about that part. In fact, I wish you kept quiet about that part. I am so glad I wasn't around for that. No offense but I'm not into that stuff. Well, right now, probably, but not then. I mean, fuck, flip the switch already!"

"Don't worry about us killing you, because you know you're going to do a great job right? and not fuck anything up." Tommy suggested, trying to inject a bit of positivity into the situation.

Tommy took his position. He was starting to miss his old body, as large and unwieldy as it was compared to Lillian's he much preferred it's lack of breasts and mommy hormones.

"Wait, what's yaoi? Is it a kind of Asian food? how would that scar the baby?"

"The beach? Well you seem like a mature young lady for the most part, and I doubt the baby understands. So I had this mood machine and they were at the beach while I was too, but they kept annoying me and constantly trying to bury me in the sand next to the ocean. So I brought out that little doo-hickey and instead of putting it to 'anger' like I was going to, I accidentally switched it to...uh...'lust' basically. That's a better way to put it," Mordtoten said with a slight cough.
"It was fun!" called out Leland-Brian from his position.
"I'm sure it was..." Mordtoten replied, putting on his goggles and telling everyone to stand still as he flipped the switch.

A bright light, some blacking out, and some body-switching later, and Mordtoten was calling out for those in their correct bodies to come around the desk and stay back before he hit the switch for those who weren't change. Garrus happily ran over to the desk, gently taking his son out of Marrissa's hands and hugging the little boy happily.

"I don't think I've ever been so happy to be in my own body," he said, getting a slight eyebrow-raise from Mordtoten.
"Doubt there would be many circumstances that would make you think like that," he told Garrus, checking to see if anyone else would come up.

Katie's eyes flickered open, another brain-freeze headache coursing through her, and she sat up. She quickly looked around to see if she was back in her own body, hoping that that was the case. Unfortunately, she caught sight of a mass of plants lying on the floor. "Ah, crap..." she murmured before freezing in shock. Her voice sounded like Jason's... that was because it was.

"God dammit. Can I not catch a break?" she grumbled aloud, carefully getting to her feet. "Still, at least I don't get voices in my head anymore. Grife, that was annoying. Um, no 'fence, Leland."

Before even thinking about opening his eyes, Rowan clapped a hand to his forehead. Is that it? Can I go back to just plain, simple shifting into other people's bodies? Not wanting to try just yet - the "soul-crushing headache" as he had once put it was a bigger concern - he got up from lying on the floor. "Oh, God. How long is this going to take... what are the odds that this is all aboot - " He caught himself on the change in accent. Richard had never shifted into someone with a Canadian voice...

Rowan sighed in impatience. He was in Brian's body. Not exactly the form in which he wanted to be, but it would do until the next switch.

Brian awoke to the sounds of his own voice again. Oh fuck off. Seriously? God who's body am I in now?

He sat up and looked down at himself. The body was there though... it was his body, so who was talking if it wasn't him? If I'm me, then who sounds like me? It can't be Rowan right? He wouldn't shift into me like that. As he thought about who else had the ability to sound like him his body shifted into the form that he thought about. Rowan's body. "Damn it. Well I get to go for another spin. Hurrah. Who's got me now?"

"Hell yes I'm back in my body!" Tommy exclaimed, grabbing his chest and smiling at his flatness. Before breaking into a victory dance. " No offense Lillian." He added when he stopped dancing.

Jason's eyes slowly flickered open, stirring slowly before rising.

Am I back in my own body? Ero, are you there? He thought, getting no response in return. His eyes lowered in annoyance. This time, he tried talking with his mouth.

"Great. Just Gr-...I sound like Katie..." He said in blunt realization, cutting himself short after almost immediately noticing the voice of the new body in which he inhabited.

"Who's in my body?!" He called out, slightly aggravated.

Meanwhile, in the Mindscape...

Erebus quickly jumped back as Ethan's astral projection was replaced with Katie's.

"Geez, today just isn't your day then, isn't it? If i'm not a voice in your head, then what am I? Chop Suey?" Erebus replied with a chuckle.

 

[CounterAttack]

Katie flinched, both physically and mentally, at the sound of a new voice in her head. "Um... well, you're definitely a voice, but... who are you?" she asked. "You aren't like the others, I've never heard you before..." A theory presented itself to her at that point. Jason's powers were derived from the Key, and he had mentioned something a while back, called 'Erebus' which was connected to it.

"No way. No freaking way. My God, I had no idea there was another guy in Jason's head... are you Erebus?" Katie was completely amazed by the revelation; she knew about Erebus, but clearly had no idea that it had its own personality. In a way, it was kind of like the whole Levi/Victor thing, except that Erebus wasn't trying to kill everyone in sight as soon as he got control.

"Aah... that depends on who is in whose body," Rowan answered both Brian and Jason. "In answer to whoever is in my body, I'm Rowan. Whoever is in my body, please try not to shift. Unless, of course, you want to get your own body back for a while." Hopefully it was Brian; that would make things so much easier if everyone had somehow gotten themselves paired up in each other's body.

"Ah, yeah, pretty sure that's me," Brian said, trying his best not to think of anyone else. "Yeah, if that's you man. I think we got lucky with this one. We can just double up and that will take care of this, right?"

Well this isn't so bad, least I'm back on the right side. And looks like we got matched up with the correct bodies. All right, this will work. One more switch I should be back into beer-drinking, Canadian man me. Awesome. Be watching my movies. Finally finish Scott Pilgrim fully...

Brian's distraction caused the shifting to occur again, loud snaps accompanying it as his looks change to match the star of the movie he was thinking about.

"Oh....oh no....oh this, this isn't good. Can we....Can we, you know start the thing? The machine? Again? I don't....I don't want to look like this. He's not even that good. It's the rest of the movie that's good. Fuck."

At the sight of Michael Cera standing in front of him, Rowan facepalmed, hard. "Okay, I still don't know who you are, on account of you not giving a name. But whoever you are, get out of that body right now. I don't care about the flux stage." That last sentence gave him pause. Whoever was in his body probably didn't know about it.

Pausing briefly, he added, "Um... the flux stage lasts for about ten minutes after shifting. If I - er, you - try to change form again within that time, you'll just revert back to my original body. It's common among shapeshifters like me."

"OK, OK, I am going to do that," Brian told him as he tried shifting again. He managed to do it, returning to Rowan's body. "Oh thank God. I didn't need that. He's already given the Canucks a bad name. Oh yeah, it's Brian, by the way. Sorry about that."

"Why yes, milady. I am Erebus, Jason's guardian, and server of The Key." He announced, bowing to the plant manipulator's astral projection.

"If you're gonna stay here, then i'll have to ask you for a 150 dollar rent every 10 seconds. Also, don't feed the animal." Erebus said straightly as he pointed in the direction of a towering, severely damaged, lead prison. It was obvious that he was joking about the first comment, but he wasn't playing around about the second.

"Imagine if this thing and Victor were released at the same time..." He added, letting the thought linger about.

Jason-Katie rushed up to his body, urgently tapping it on the shoulder.

"Ethan, are you still in there?" Jason asked. As he addressed himself, Marrissa rushed up to Katie's body.

"I'm guessing it didn't work for you the second time around, huh?" She asked, catching on surprisingly fast.

"Nope." Jason replied simply.

Taryn laughed quietly at Brian's shape-shifting and Tommy's victory dance. Everything was once again its proper height. Which meant everything was taller. Which meant she was short again. Taryn sighed in relief and pulled her jacket against her body. She started to reach in her pants pocket and then realized that her computer was still in Levi's clothing. 'Oh well.'

Taryn took a few steps towards the desk / 'right-body' area.. 'Wait...so who's in...' She turned on her heel. Judging by the rest of the team it was possible Levi wasn't himself yet. Which could go badly. Taryn walked toward Levi's body. Using her computer as an excuse Taryn held up her hand.

"Sorry if you're still mixed up but um...could I get my computer? It's in your pocket." Taryn pointed and smiled politely. She kept her gaze on Levi's eyes.

Levi opened his eyes to see Taryn, her body anyway, looking down at him, smiling. A quick glance down and around the room confirmed that he was back in his original body. Inferring from the question about her computer, it sounded like Taryn was back in hers as well. "Taryn, I presume?" he asked with a grin as he reached into his pocket, produced Taryn's computer, and handed it back to her. He stood up and dusted off his vest, frowning slightly when he felt a few rips and tears. Despite a mild headache and a bit of disorientation, Levi was fine. "Is everything okay on your end?" he asked.

Katie raised her eyebrows at Erebus's bow, but paid attention to the instructions he gave. "I see. I assume that that's some kind of big scary thing that no-one wants to see released, much like Victor in that respect," she answered, wondering what kind of... thing lay behind those walls. At that point she was abruptly brought back to the present by someone tapping her shoulder.

It seemed that she and Jason had switched places, similar to Taryn and Levi earlier. "Um... no, it's not Requiem. We swapped over, um, Jase," she said, giving him an awkward smile. God, that's weird. Talking to someone in my body, while I'm in theirs... Are you hearing this, Erebus?

"Alright, cool. Just make sure you pick a decent, preferably good-looking actor next time," Rowan said with a chuckle. "So it looks like we're paired up until the next switch. Thankfully it's not a convoluted mess like last time. And I can speak! Added bonus!" He grinned at that, clapping Brian on the shoulder before sitting on the floor in front of the mind-switcher. With any luck it would be easier if the pairs were all together until after the next switch.

"Yeah, at least it looks like some of the others got matched back in the right spots too, lucky buggers," Brian commented. "Ah well, machine shouldn't take that long to get going again. I'm sure the Professor made sure he had plenty of apples this time."
