"I wouldn't say smart so much as mischievous and very good at getting to wherever she wants. As for the car, why not something that can rival the speed of the suit?" Richard said as he walked over to a waiting Koenigsegg CCXR.

"God I wish I could let this car completely loose."

"You just have bad luck is all dear. Who knows, could be Leland putting a life long rock in your shoe, so to speak." She said with a laugh as she watched her child.

Katie breathed a light sigh of relief as Tommy directed her and Leland to an area filled with relatively more peaceful plants. "Ah, these look more like something that could spruce up the Promenade," she commented, investigating a nearby flower that looked like a rose. Strangely enough, when she bent to take in the scent, the flower had a cocoa-like aroma.

"Huh, I like that one... although I'll pick out a few others. Anything take your fancy, Leland?" she asked the man in question, looking up at him with a smile.

"Well that one you're looking at is nice, so is that pretty aquamarine colored one that reminds me of a willow. I also like that one that is eating Jason over there," Leland replied, directing them to Jason who seemed to be trying to get away from a plant with no avail, "I'm sure he'll be fine though with that armor...or not. I don't really know anything about plants; especially magical ones."

----

"Hmm never thought it could be him...then again he seems to kinda suffer from it too," Garrus replied as he mulled the idea over in his head. He grabbed the diaper bag and opened it up, telling Renton to toss in his empty bottle. After a moment of bewilderment Renton threw it in perfectly, getting a hi-five from his dad as he zipped the bag up.

"Ready to head back?" Garrus asked Lillian, looking at his watch and figuring it was a good enough time to head back.

The peculiar plant continued to expand in size, moving on from one finger, to his entire hand, and even further still. Jason continued to budge, but still to no avail.

"Crap, didn't want to get violent little plant, but..." With that, his hand lit up with spikes, impaling the carnivorous plant in every sense of the word. It squealed loudly in pain before withdrawing from Jason's hand, and withering. Jason frantically looked around before speedily walking away, hoping none of the store clerks saw what he did. In hopes to get away, Jason mistakenly bumped into Leland and the others.

"Heyyy, just the people I was looking for..." He said.

Taryn smiled gratefully then set the poorly designed basket down in the cart. She was careful not to crush anything. Before backing up Taryn glanced over the items and estimated how much they would all cost. "I wonder if we could get a tax deduction for materials used in fighting crime." she pondered out loud. She backed away from the cart and went to stand next to Levi. Taryn followed Levi, and the cart, to the check-out line. A few clearance items that they passed along the way caught her attention but she was 'good' and left them alone.

"I'll deal with it," Katie answered Leland as they walked over. "Or, y'know, not," she added, watching Jason's spikes impale the plant and retract. The flytrap flopped over semi-lifelessly, dying as a result of the retaliatory attack.

"Oh, son of a..." Katie muttered under her breath. "They're probably gonna make us pay for that, Jase. Unless..." she trailed off, lightly poking the plant with a finger. The spike holes resealed themselves, and it began to restore itself to its previous condition. Katie took her hand away quickly before the plant could try to eat the hand in question.

"No touchy, you," she chided, turning back to Leland and Jason. "So, yes, where were we... Aquamarine willowy flower, right."

"May as well. I think Renton is finished playing." Lillian said as she got up and waited for Garrus and Renton to begin heading back before following.

-----------------------------

"Who knows, if it becomes readily available I probably would." Richard said as they got in the car and arrived at the Promenade sometime later.

"Here we are."

"You know, I think we could get a discount on top of that," Levi replied as they approached the checkout line. There were only two other people in line, so the wait was relatively short. The person operating the register was a teenage boy, who could not have been older than eighteen. His small, nondescript name tag read "Andrew". The young man greeted them and began to scan their items, a carefully rehearsed routine that he performed quickly and efficiently.

After Andrew finished scanning their items, he read off the total to them. Hrm. It's a bit much, Levi thought. "Is there some sort of...superhero discount?" he asked Andrew. In response, the young cashier gave him an incredulous look. "Oh, don't tell me. You're part of the Society. Do you know how many of you looking for a discount come in claiming you're a-"

Andrew's sentence was cut short as Levi produced a badge, identifying him as a member of the Society of Justice. The young man stared at him, mouth agape. "Uh...sorry about that..." he stammered nervously. The suddenly nervous Andrew punched in some buttons at his register, which dramatically cut the total price. "..a-anything for the Electric Couple..."

Levi winced at that the media-given name for himself and Taryn. You'd think they could be at least somewhat creative. After handing Andrew his card and completing the transaction, Levi and Taryn left the store with all due haste. Now that their cover was blown, it would be a matter of time before people noticed them. Suddenly regretting the decision to park in the back of the lot, Levi pushed the cart down the pavement as fast as he could.

As they made their way to his car, people called out to them, asking for pictures, autographs, and the like. One particularly creepy-sounding fellow loudly proclaimed his undying love for Taryn and even tossed a bouquet of flowers in their general direction. The floral projectile overshot its target and landed on a nearby car. Pulling out his keys, Levi popped the trunk of his car and started loading their newly purchased building materials into the empty space. "Hey, help me out here!" he said to Taryn over the increasing din of their adoring "fans".

Alex walked into Promenade with Sam and smiled walking to the lounge. "Hey guys." she said walked and let Sam down to find Joel. "Run kitty run." she laughed as Sam ran into a wall. Alex laughed her ass off.

Upon seeing Richard and Alex drive into the Promenade, Rowan got up from his spot outside and walked in after them. Considering that Alex was now available for conversation, he took the opportunity as it was given, before she could be occupied by other things. It had been put off long enough; he had to know the extent of the virus and its effects on him.

Taking a seat in the lounge, he said, "Morning, Alex. Um... Can I talk to you about Gentron and the work the company does?"

"Right." Grabbing two of the plastic bags Taryn swung them into the trunk of the car. She glanced at the bouquet of flowers and shuddered. 'I guess that reporter was right. I've heard of having fans but this is ridiculous' As quickly as she could Taryn helped Levi get the rest of the bags and materials into the trunk of the car. When they were finished Taryn pushed the cart into the next empty parking space. 'Normally I wouldn't do this but I'm not sure we can make it back to the cart storage place.' she reasoned. One energetic fan began pushing their way through the small crowd toward the cart she'd just left behind. 'Okay, that's weird.' Ignoring the crowd and shouted questions Taryn opened the passenger side door and entered the car. She made sure the window was all the way up and the door was locked. "Let's go!" she told Levi.

"Right behind you!" Levi shouted as he slammed his door shut and started the engine. Jesus Christ, this is utterly insane. Backing out of his spot, he hoped that nobody would be dumb enough to get in the way. Having people obsessed with your girlfriend was one thing. Having multiple charges of vehicular manslaughter was a completely different ballpark. Thankfully, nobody leaped in their path as Levi turned and drove out of the parking lot, leaving a sizable group of writhing "fans" in their wake. On the way out, a couple of camera flashes momentarily blinded him, causing him to grumble in frustration. "They just don't give up..." he groaned as he blinked to clear his vision. "And it looks like I can't take this car out anymore. Not without a plate change and a completely new paint job," Levi added with a sigh.

"Well, you did say you wanted to do some upgrades." Taryn commented with a grin. She glanced out at the side-view mirror. The fans on foot were rapidly being left behind. "The hardware store will probably be getting a lot more business now." she said. Taryn wondered if they owed the store an apology or if they should get another discount. 'Just in case, we may have to find a new shopping center to frequent.'

"It's a good thing we were able to get most of the supplies." she added.

"Hey I was right Jason did end up alright," Leland said as he watched Jason safely get away from the man-eating plant. He continued to look at some of the plants now that no one was being eaten and commented on those he liked the best or thought would be a good fit. "Well it's up to you what you want for the greenhouse Katie. Once they're done being rebuilt they can certainly fit a lot of these in," he said as he poked the small willow plant which caused it to brighten up in color.

----

"I think he's practically asleep already," Garrus told Lillian as he grabbed the bag and followed after her, Renton already dozing off in just that short amount of time. "This is good, means the next few hours will be relatively peaceful," he said as they made their way back; Garrus frowning when he could already hear the noise from the construction.

Tommy picked out a few packets of seeds, trying to recall what plants Katie had in her original garden. He also threw in some plants he felt would be useful to have on hand. He presented the selection to Katie, " So I think these are some of the plant's you had, I also have a few things that'd be useful for some potions, wolf's bane, sage, cloves, pretty normal stuff. Nothing that should eat anyone on it's own."

It's worth noting that right now I'm not in my usual time zone, London time is few hour earlier than my usual time. I'll be traveling till next tuesday.

Despite his frustration, Levi always found Taryn's smile to be disarming; he could never be angry for long. He even managed a smile of his own, too. "Yeah...there's that at least," he replied after taking a deep breath. From there, it was an uneventful drive back to the Promenade. However, Levi had to take some side streets and back roads just in case they were being followed, which added some extra time to the drive. Better safe than sorry, he reasoned.

After finally making their way to the back to the Promenade, he opened the garage door and parked his car back in its isolated corner of the massive garage. As Levi stepped out, his nose was assaulted by the smell of excessive exhaust. Perhaps I need to look at the engine while I'm at it...

"Potions?" Katie asked quizzically, looking up at Tommy as she examined the small packet of wolfsbane. "So do some of these plants - ordinary plants, mind you - have some kind of magical properties that we non-magic people don't even know about? Is it possible for someone like me to produce a... potion... just as easily as a magician?"

She was interested in the idea now: it gave her a myriad of possibilities to expand her abilities. Something to boost strength, for example, would be good for Jason just before a fight. Or perhaps a salve to increase other attributes such as toughness, speed, combat prowess or reflexes... Katie liked the idea, although there would have to be some kind of limit on the use of any potions that were produced. Maybe one per month or something, only used when absolutely necessary. She didn't want to get someone addicted, if that was possible.

"Well all things have elements of magic inside of them. Plants concentrate certain elements as they draw energy directly from the four classic elements, earth, water, and fire. All living things do the same thing to a certain degree." Tommy said, "As for making potions, there really isn't any real difference between a magic user and a non-magic user. They're no special gene or anything that allows or prevents people from using magic, a magician is just like an athlete really, someone who has trained they're body to be able to do a certain thing. Now there are certain inherited traits that effect inclination to develop magical ability, Leland is a good example of that. And then there are situations that result in magic in a special way for an individual, like me for example."

Dira came up behind Tommy, and cuffed him behind the ear to get him to stop his rambling.

"She asked if she could mix potions, not a lecture." She scolded Tommy before replying to Katie, " Yes it's perfectly possible, but not easy, mixing potions is an incredibly complex task, in order to extract the magic properties of the plants, and to get the extracts to do what you want, it requires a lot of skill that doesn't come easy."

Alex looked over at Rowan. "Yes? What do you need Rowan? Something wrong?" Alex asked him seeming concerned for him. She wasn't sure what he wanted but was willing to help him as best she could.

Eric blinked hearing Alex's voice and practically ran to see her. "Hey Alex." he said trying not to pant and hugged her.

"Ummm hey Eric." she said confused but didn't really care.
