hmm suprising

i nearly always play male shep, and the original, i dont like the configurations they allow you to change with..it doesn't reflect me at all. and i generally do the infiltrator class all the time, the vanguard occasionally to do the force hulk smash thing for fun, but overall infiltrator + garrus + miranda = win everytime for me

i let grunt out, just to keep everything going to the perfectionist way, but i never use him at all, i generally dont find him useful, hes just a meat shield and he doesn't even shield me as it is so not worth it to me imo

i always fully upgrade and do everyone's side quests, every. fucking. time. i love the cut scenes where you rape on the collectors with the upgrades. and yet...i have yet to have a single ending where everyone stays alive. literally i cannot figure out why this happens every time.

I definitely made my own face (who wouldn't?)
Was male...
Vanguard! Not Soldier! Ha!
I admit, I didn't use Garrus at all in ME1, but in ME2 he proved to be very useful. My party usually consisted of me, Miranda, and Garrus/Thane.
Why the fuck would you not let grunt out of the tank? More loyalty missions! WOO!
I didn't have the funds to upgrade my ship the first play through, but the second time around it got fully decked out.
Um...let's see first time through Tali and Samara died, and I never activated Legion.
But my second time through, I got my shit straight, activated Legion and no one died. (FUCK YEAH!)

Also I sided with Cerberus because they don't piss me off like the government does. Jesus if anybody could be more useless its the Citadel.

There's a reason I finished this game six times. I wanted to do EVERYTHING, not just be a statistic like that.

Why would you not use Grunt?
I didn't really like Grunt, his abilities were really limited in battle.

Generally if I needed a tank-esc character with me I'd use Jacob. His survivability was just as high, if not better, than Grunt's thanks to barrier. Moreover I found his skill set much more useful.

Honestly, I found myself using Garrus a lot, especially my first play through, just because his story line was awesome.

After my first play through I pretty much stuck exclusively to Morinth, Zaeed, and Miranda. Zaeed died for me the first time around because I went paragon on his loyalty mission. I didn't care much, I thought he was awful. Then my second play through I went the renegade route on his mission, got Inferno Grenade, and realized he's fucking amazing. I used Jacob everytime I knew I'd be swarmed by husks.

Garrus is the shit. Though I am quite partial to the bad-ass in heels that is Samara and Legion(seriously he owns). I have a solider, infiltrator, and adept. I found the adept to be far less fun than I imagined. They really need to add force lightning or something.

Femshep is so much better, I tried her first becuase someome said the story is better that way.

Tried male shep once, quit 5 seconds after I heard him speak, he just doesnt sound like the charecter sheperd should be.

Seriosly people dont play with biotics?

Oh and I cant model any male avatar to look like myself in any game, they dont make a model for 6,1 130lb men, it always makes me mad....

I never really liked Female Shepard's voice. She was good as Bastilla Shan, but as Commander Shepard she sounds like she has been smoking for 20 years and just woke up from a long night drinking at an outdoor party in the middle of November (in a region that drastically changes seasons). Only when she is "flirting" with Kelly does she change the tone of her voice to something other than "annoyed-at-some-one-that-won't-be-quiet-while-I-have-a-hang-over." Mark Meer actually changes tone, from being pissed off to be more assuring to his emotionally troubled crew.

In line the with topic though, I hate that so many people were Soldiers. Soldier is just so generic. No "real" powers to speak of other than the Adrenalin Rush thing. Everything else is just "put a different clip of ammo in." Might as well play Gears of War instead if you just want to use a bunch of guns and take cover behind chest high walls.

Adepts, Sentinels and Vanguards are my favorites. I never really like the Engineer in this game to be honest.

In ME1 they were great because most of your enemies were robotic and plus your powers would effect the enemies weapons, which made all but like 2 different enemies vulnerable to your powers. In ME2 your enemies are mostly organic with a small amount of enemy Geth or Mechs to fight. Then you have to upgrade Overload twice before it affects weapons to give it any affect against a common organic enemy. The AI Hacking power is pretty useless since only like 3 missions have Geth and only a few missions feature a large enough amount of Mechs. In the main story missions, the only ones are the first two and Jacob's Loyalty Mission.

Adept really took a massive step backwards in ME2. In ME1, they were like gods.

The way I like to play ME2 is sniping everything to death or being a strategist and controlling the field with drone/hacking/dominate.

I'm replaying ME2 again right now, heh. 3rd playthrough.

Oh god, Adepts are terrible, they destroyed the class.

I played through the original ME with every class on Insanity. Got my Adept to lvl 60 because that was the one I intended to play ME2 with.

I started ME2 with said Adept on Insanity, and I raged so much, I hated the game, I thought it wasn't any fun. Crowd control sucked, I had to relay on squadmates way too much. I was just there to toss warp whenever possible.

I barely even had the motivation to play a second time, but I did. That time I used an infiltrator, and laughed at how easy Insanity actually was. Started playing with an engineer, but haven't finished.

Truth is even while I found the game more fun with an Infiltrator, it just had far too many flaws for my liking and just wasn't as enjoyable as the first.

Point being... Adepts are awful, I hope they fix this for ME3. They used to be very hard to use (especially on Insanity), but once they were leveled they were beasts, in ME2 they just stayed garbage.

I don't make a new face, because I see the default as Shepard's "canon" face.

First time, I was a Male Soldier, but I've done female since then (Jennifer Hale FTW.) One Vanguard and one Soldier, both on Insanity.

Always let Grunt out

Garrus is probably my most used character

Always upgraded Normandy fully

Saved all but one my first time, everyone in both subsequent playthroughs.

Only reason I'm not split evenly between blowing up the station and not is because I've played an odd number of playthroughs.

I am planning on purposely wiping sometime, though. And maybe one where ALMOST everyone dies.

I am surprised at the crazy male/female ratio. I bet 90% of those have never even tried the female one.

I'm kinda surprised Engineers aren't popular...it's just the name isn't that appealing. The class itself is really powerful. The attack drone and AI hacking make a lot of fights really trivial. Add a great weapon (Widow) and you can practically solo many fights.

I usually brought Miranda because her powers are always useful, no matter the mission. I rather liked Kasumi because flashbang is great and I love her stealth backstab power (just fun). Tali and Garrus were my other common choices.
Lies. You cannot get the Widow as an Engineer.

I hate Grunt. During my next play-through, he isn't coming out of his tank. I found Krogans to be incredibly annoying and stupid in Mass Effect 2, but I've had people tell me they're much better in the first one. We'll see <__<

Heh, is that true?

I think I fiddled with the .ini files a little too much.

Well, my engineer has a Widow.

Ah, that explains it then. In the vanilla game, you can't actually get the Widow, what with the class being unable to use sniper rifles in the first place.

Wow I didn't know that...
Anyways:
Custom Face
Male
Sentinel
Thane and Miranda were usually my teammates
Grunt was the first one I got (fuck Jack)
I fully upgraded the Normandy before I got to level 30
Everyone survived, but I was kinda hoping Jack would die...
Fuck Cerberus for what they did to Adm. Kahoku in Mass Effect 1.

Sooo, would that make me semi-bandwagon?

The thing with Adepts is that on the easier difficulty settings they are by far the easiest class to play -> Slam + Shockwave + Throw/Lift whatever. Once you get to any difficulty level where everyone has armor, well, then they become pretty much useless. But as far as 'soft' targets go, they make the game a walk in the park. You barely have to shoot.

I can't believe nobody played FemShep. As the 'old' saying goes, if I'm going to be staring at someone's ass for 40 hours, it better be a sexy one. Plus, default Shepherd's face is that of an asshole.

In addition, Jennifer Hale is like my surrogate mother/constant babysitter. Junko Zane -> Bastila Shan -> Femshep. A decade of awesome gaming.

Because Zaeed is better. And less of a dumbass.

At least, that's how it was through all my playthroughs. Inferno Grenade is invaluable.

On a more related note, I'm surprised that number for the FemSheps is that low, going purely off YouTube in any case. And I think Soldier is the most popular class because it's an unofficial "easy" mode, made more apparent by the change in direction with the combat mechanics. And it's the only class that has access to all weapon types, which greatly increases offensive capabilities.

But whatever. So long as I can still use my Infiltrator assassin and Adept goddess in ME3 I'm happy.

I never tried Adepts on ME1. Sounds like Bioware nerf'd the shit out of them for the sequel. I'd still really like to see Shepard shooting lightning out of his fingers.

Eh, I didn't know that about Adepts, though it's good to hear I guess. I do wish they were more viable in Insanity (the only real way to play in my mind).

I played FemShep. I always play female characters when given the option though, always have, not sure why. To be honest, it seems like they put more effort into the customization options for male Shepard than female.
