Kick-Ass, I appreciate that it was a well made film, but as a fan of the comic, the ending wussed out big time, ruined it for me.
I didn't like the end of Kickass either although I haven't read the comics. Can I ask what happens in the comics and why you say it wussed out?

I probably would like Fallout 3 much better if I didn't know that both the super mutants and enclave were both nearly wiped out at the end of the first two games. I don't care what excuse they have for them showing up, it's still a stupid retcon.

Somewhere George Lucas has a bunker built to withstand the all of the fan hatred caused by this very word.

OT: Eragon movie.

Loved the books, loved the characters, loved the creatures only to watch that movie chew it all up and crush my hopes and dreams.

I thought it was just the fact that the third game took place in an entirely different section of the country. The ones in DC came from Vault 87 and, according to the wiki, are completely different populations with no contact between one another.

The worst for me were the Lord of the Rings movies. They probably would have been awesome fantasy movies if I didn't feel the need to stab Peter Jackson every second of them. I can understand some cosmetic changes like in Watchmen (alien attack vs Manhattan attack), but I cannot understand when a dorky movie director of bad taste and braindead decides he can actually change whole aspects of a classic saga. (And after all those added Arwen scenes he could've at least shown that in the end Arwen regretted and was bitter as per the appendices of RotK novel.)

Yes, I realize that, but it still feels like ass pull. I would have much preferred Bethesda deciding to make it a "reboot" of sorts, that way they can change whatever they want without it messing with canon. Also, another thing that bothered me was how the Brotherhood suddenly became the good guys, which felt weird. Again, Bethesda did a good job explaining it, but it just didn't seem natural.

Still, I don't like Fallout 3 for the story, I like it for the exploration and world, which is something Bethesda is really good at. I tend to ignore the story of it when I can.

The one I was bothered with the most, would be Pokemon, and Yu Gi Oh!

These bothered me the most mainly because they were the best memories of my childhood, that had to be ruined because of greed, and lack of imagination

Halo: Reach until I learned more details about the backstory.

EXACTLY.

The journal explains most of it.

Mass Effect 2 (especially its DLC).

All the times my conversation options were limited to "being an asshole" despite choosing the Paragon path. And don't even get me started on the instances Shepard would say something completely out of character without at least giving me a chance to choose a dialog option.
While we are on that, the retcon of the way guns work. Ammo clips aren't progress, it was regressing. And why were some squad mates not wearing armor? Especially in environments exposed to Space.
Oh god, some one beat me to it, but thankfully im not the only person annoyed at this.

Course... now I dont really have anything... damn...

Yeah, I guess. Though I have a feeling a lot of people would have been more pissed off by a reboot of the franchise.

OT: Fallout 3, for the reasons someone stated above.

The GECK is not some magical paradise maker, its a case containing fresh water and seeds.
This. What the wiki says is contrary to what the Fallout Bible says. The fallout bible said that it was just what the quoted post says. Not some magical "Give all end all" Device. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if all bethesda did to research the games story was read the fallout 2 manual, as there was an ad for the GECK in there.

I'm with you guys. I don't give a damn how they say it, going from infinite ammo to finite ammo is a downgrade.

Thankfully, I've never been into a series enough to have that happen.

Except this one webcomic, but that was common sense fail.

Well, it didn't ruin it but...

The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. I love it so much that I want it to continue! That world has so much potential, and so many side stories to explore.

Halo Reach. there were no other Spartans on Reach other than Master Chief's team, who arent even mentioned (to my knowledge.) even though there is a space mission which is where Master Chief was (in space). It also puts Jun on the Shield World with Halsey at the end of Onyx.
also, i just started rewatching the old Chuck episodes until the new one comes out. in Chuck vs Santa Claus Casey calls his mother and says "Mom? Its Johnny-boy." however, its later in Chuck vs the Tic Tac its revealed that
John Casey was born Alexander Coburn and his family were told he died in the war when he was recruited.
Actually just about every spartan was on Reach. This is stated in the Fall of Reach novel. you are right about them not mentioning Master Chief's team though. And what's wrong with Jun being there?

it didnt ruin it but it keeps on biting on me and makes things a bit more confusing

in SMT nocturne it explains that the world in nocturne is a alternate world than the first 2. and theres millions of alternate worlds. it just makes the whole story and setting confusing. excluding if... and persona as its the only one that can be explained with nocturnes logic

That's kind of stupid marketing. "You have to read this, this, and this or you won't get this." Really? That seems a little money-whorish at worst.
Umm... I don't think you understand Marketing. That's GREAT marketing. That way people buy your product.

I fall into the camp of reading Fall of Reach, and not playing the game. So I don't really care if the story's been changed since then. As someone who reads 40k fiction, and has for a while, I'm more than used to major retcons completely invalidating major persons and events.

Actually I didn't have something for this thread, but now I've thought of something.

Horus Heresy: Nemesis (and a lot of the HH series as well). Basically Nemesis is quite cool as it focuses on Assassins rather than soldiers, and very little has been made of the Officio Assassinorum in the past few years. Thing is I always thought the Vanus temple were assassins who specialized in heavy destruction, infiltrating and destroying targets with explosive force and ruthlessness. In the novel they were basically information gatherers, and not very badass like the others.

A small gripe, but I'm contributing at least.
