As for me, I had a guy who wouldn't stop trying to get me to not buy Castlevania Lament of Innocence for PS2.
I had the opposite problem. I had a guy that wouldn't leave me alone because he wanted me to buy Lament of Innocence so badly. -_-
I can't believe that guy though.

I hope he got a nice little talking to from his manage about that. You don't question what the customer wants! You help them and that's it.
I had something kind of like that happen to me. Well, it reminded me of it anyways. I was looking for Ico and I didn't know it was on a blue disc and PS2s sometimes don't play them, blah blah blah...
I called and asked if they had it in stock. The GameStop guy said that it was a rare game and he hadn't seen it in forever so he didn't think they had it. Sure enough, they had a copy and he seemed really surprised about it.
So he then proceeds to explain to me that it's a blue disc and he asked if I had the regular or slim PS2. I told him I had the regular and he said that I shouldn't buy the game because my PS2 probably wouldn't play it and I should find a friend that has a blue disc game (none of my friends have one, I know that) and try it and see if it plays, etc.
So I asked him if he could hold it for me anyways because I really wanted to try Ico and it was the only copy anywhere near me so I thought I'd take my chances. Then I asked him if it had the original case because I'd love it if it did. He said he'd try to look for it.
So, I drive down there and he said that he couldn't find the case and wanted to know if I still wanted it. I said yes and I went just to check for myself for the case. The case was right in front of my face. -_-
I grab it and right before I pay, he tries to convince me again that I shouldn't waste my time with it because it probably won't play. I told him that's what return policies and receipts are for.
Basically, I think he might've been trying to talk me out of the game so he could buy it himself once he realized they actually had a copy. He just really irked me because he wouldn't let it go. At all. He just kept pushing me, saying I shouldn't buy the game. The funny thing? I haven't had a single problem with my Ico disc. Jerk. >.>
