People tend to put other people in different categories just to ease the mind and that is what happened with you, besides the man was trying to sell stuff and get an extra buck. You weren`t very polite either by the way.

Altough being called a fairy because you own a Wii is for the lulz.

I'd get him fired. Real gamers have all the consoles and a gaming PC. If you aren't a real gamer, you're not qualified to give advice to other gamers about what to buy.

I asked one girl in GameStation if they had any copies of The Orange Box, and she asked me three times what system it was on. I know it's before Christmas and these stores need all the monkies they can get, but come on!

yeah, woman in GAME was trying to get me to buy some PS3 accessories by dissing Sony nonstop, and how it's inferior to the 360. I got steadily annoyed (remember, she's trying to sell this shit to me) and then when she went as far as saying it was inferior to the Wii (I'm not hating on Wiis or wii users, I just believe technologically the ps3 is better) I just walked out, made a point about going to their rival shop and buying hundreds of dollars worth of games, cables, controllers and the like. I came back into her store, made sure she saw my bag, then just walked out.

I remember pre-ordering Platinum version at my local game store and the cashier said, "You still play those dumb games?" (If he doesn't like them, and they do not sell that often, why does he carry them?) My simple response, "If you have a problem with that I'll take my business elsewhere."

Another time I was buying Warhammer 40K: Dark Crusade at the same place and the same guy said, "So you've decided to stop playing Pokemon and play something a little more grown up?" I walked out and bought it somewhere else.

Thankfully I don't get this at my local Game because a) They recognise me as a regular browser so don't ask if I need help and b) 2 of the staff are women so there's none of the "Girls don't like games" crap.

Again It was his attitude when he asked me the questions. If there was a hint of sarcasm, then I wouldn't care but there was.

I understand why you were outraged at the guy but don't you think you went too far by threatening his job? It's not like if he bold-facedly insulted you he was just trying to imply that you would like something better.
I didn't threaten his job, he called the manager not me.

Sorry Dude, But if i was that gamestop employee Id've probably acted the same as him, ONly because i hate the wii with a firey passion. (i have non-fanboy reasons)

He is stereotyping and working off the rule of averages, Why were you being so touchy about it?
You did sort of answer your own question there: stereotyping is lame. That's like me walking in and buying Modern Warfare 2 and him asking 'madam, wouldn't you rather buy Nintendogs?'

That employee was dumb; you dont questions the tastes of the client! If you can help him, you do, otherwise you should keep your opinions for yourself...

-edit: unless the client is basically doing something stupid; wich isnt the case here.

It sounds to me like you were overly defensive and by asking got a problem with it you forced the employers answer. He wasn't much of a **** but he is an awful sales person.

So I look at the Wii selections and debate whether to get this game or that game(You know what I mean right?)
Just out of curiosity, what were the two games you were looking at when he approached you? I'm interested to know if the games themselves might have also had anything to do with why he was being a dickweed.

But...those games rule. Good god, this guy doesn't just sound like a dickweed, he also sounds like a fanboy <_<

What is wrong with the Wii? If I want to have fun, than it doesn't matter what system I use. Personally, I'm primarily a PC gamer. But I wouldn't lose respect for someone if they used a Wii.

Yeah because a 7 year old is going to play No More Heroes and Madworld.

I don't own an 360 or PS3, but I've played the 360 several times at my friend's house. I didn't think it had anything special. I wasn't too mystified by Halo, unlike many others, and thought most other games (at least the ones my friend had) were kinda boring.

Please don't respond saying "OMG UR SUCH A NINTENDO FANBOY N00B LOL" because I beat Max Payne 1 & 2 on on "Dead on Arrival" difficulty and beat up to 3 Hard enemies at once in Generals and RA2.

...so yeah, Wii's cool... except for all those exercise games...
