I personally prefer Marilyn Manson's cover of You Spin Me Right Round, to the original by Dead or Alive.

Slightly off topic but found a cover last week. that made me facepalm. Mainly because of the video, it was Turning Japanese by Kirsten Dunst (that right, the actress in Spiderman)I know the original music video by The Vapors wasn't much good either but this was just too much.

Bob Seger is no slouch, but Metallica's cover of "Here I Am, On the Road Again" is the only song by Metallica I like.

It's pretty awesome.
My good man, you've been twice ninja'd! It's called "Turn the Page", and Metallica's version is beyond pretty awesome.

Anaal Nathrakh's cover of Mayhem's De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas.

You know your cover's good if the band themselves praise you for it.

The only case I can think of is The Metro - System of a Down. And that's because with the few songs that they cover, they COMPLETELY change them. It is awesome, it sounds like it was their original and yet it was an 80s single.

Frank Black's version of Hang On To Your Ego was much better than The Beach Boys.
Siouxsie and the Banshees did a fantastic version of "Trust In Me" from the Jungle Book.
Also, there's a wonderfully touching version of Duran Duran's "Girls On Film" performed by Wesley Willis.

Dream Theater's rendition of "To tame a land" was awesome. Don't get me wrong, the origonal was great, but the cover was at least as good.

Dope and Drowning Pool both did Rebel Yell better than Billy Idol.
Children of Bodom as well. Their last album was all covers, Talk dirty to me and she is beautiful were also really good.

Only some covers are better than the original. Take Electric Eye for example.

Down In The Park - Foo Fighters

Blue Monday - ORGY

The originals of these songs were great, but I personally like the covers more.

What to you guys is a song cover that surpasses the original. To me Stone Sour's version of Wicked Game (Original by Chris Isaak)took what was good about the original and just enhanced it perfectly. Three days grace's version is ok, HIM's version is an excersice in fail. Your toughts?

You're a huge retard, I do not care if you're entitled to an oppinion but simply said you must be some kind of inept to even consider stone sour musically competant. They are atrocious and do that cover no justice.

As for covers which did songs justice.

Nirvana's covers from Live and Unplugged @ New York
Your opinion would actually mean something if you weren't 19 and an xbox chode. If you have nothing to contribute GTFO. When you actually do something of consequence like i've done, then come judge me.

I don't use xbox, I just have a tag for social reasons, learn to read I did contribute... maybe if you had some sense you wouldn't post and make yourself look stupid (even more so than you have already).

You should become a comedian, because your responses are laughable.
