Do you guys have any songs that you could listen to for days on end and still love it to pieces? I must be on over 100 runs of good old Alexandrite (which i've already posted here god knows how many times) and it's still AWESOME!

It helps that i've probably just lost the first round with her then the badass guitar kicks in for more motivation. Around about 1 minute in. I'm like the worst Makoto ever >.<

"ROUND 2 DAMMIT! LET'S GOOOOOOO!"

Oh and this. This forever. Years after I first heard it and it's still amazing

It doesn't have to be game soundtracks but I attach more emotionally to good soundtracks than just general good songs. Have one example though

I suppose this is an exception because it's the end of the Across the Boiling Sea trilogy of songs across Advance and Vanquish

According to Winamp it's a bunch of Alcest, Warbringer, and Tallest Man On Earth.
Huh.

As far as listening goes, no matter how much I love something if I listen to it enough times, audio fatigue will set in, and it really ruins the song for a long while for me.
Some songs I can't ever listen to again because of extreme cases of this from when I was younger.

A lot of Nightwish's stuff comes close. It's just heavy enough for me to enjoy regardless of mood, but not so heavy that it gets exhausting and starts to blur into a noise after extended sessions *cough*AvengedSevenfold*cough*. The one and only song that I could listen to forever on an infinite loop, though, is this:
I mean, I just went to Youtube to grab the link and I ended up watching the whole video again. The same one that I've watched enough times to be able to make a shot-for-shot remake from memory, and recite not only every lyric, but every note played by every instrument in the song. It's that freaking good.

Bleak by Opeth is definitely my personal favourite song that I have ever listened to.

Its so beautiful instrumentally and I find it very calming and soothing, the combination of growling and beautiful, clean vocals capture the emotional extremes of rage and despair, and the lyrics are so vividly dark and poetic. If I could only listen to a single song for the rest of my life, it could only be this masterpiece.

Free bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd

"It's not every day you hear that track... Oh, wait. Yes it is." - Tommy Smith GTA:SA

I love it. It sums up my feelings about the song.

I have 5 songs that will never grow old to me. The first is Stopping All Stations by the Hilltop Hoods. It's got some great lyrics and tells a story from three different perspectives. There's the original one and then there is one that was remade with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra which is my favourite version.
Architects is probably my favourite Rise Against song because it's got a great sound to it and I feel like it has a good message.
Kick Push by Lupe Fiasco is another great song that follows a kid through his life as a skateboarder
Red Flag and Viking Death March are my two favourite Billy Talent songs (favourite band as well). They are great high energy songs and seeing them live was amazing.

All of Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. It's the album that I always go to when I can't think of anything specific I want to listen to.

Though this would be considered blasphemy by other Alkaline Trio fans, I love this song:

I love Dan's voice, the bass in it, the whole rhythm of the song. But since it's a new song they're far too 'poppy' and 'mainstream' now...quite sad really. I enjoy Goddammit too, but it doesn't mean their change was bad.

Another song? Probably this:

While their earlier albums were fantastic, Appeal to Reason as a whole struck a note with me. This song in particular because I could relate to it. It's just a great piece of music to me.

Yes, but I always get a little sick of it eventually. Probably because I listen to it for days on end.

Some of my more recent ones:

Been playing Elite Beat Agents again recently and it reminded me how much I like

On the same EBA note, a song I'm still not sick of is
Though this might be a sort of Stockholm syndrome because it's the only song in the game I don't have an S rank on with the Divas so I've heard it SO MANY TIMES in my attempts to fix that.
I still haven't.

Oh, also this.
If a song can be the top of my iTunes most played list without me thinking I've even listened to it that much, it must be doing something right.

For me, I can pretty much listen to any Kamen Rider song for a long while. Especially Double Action, if for no other reason than there being like 10 different versions of that song.

Almost anything by Queen, but I'll leave it at one track here.

Intro to Tekkaman Blade

Buffalo Tom's "Taillights Fade"

The Stone Coyotes' "Might Have Been Memphis"

Just random ones to bubble up.

Amusingly, I'm sitting here listening to Cowboy Bebop soundtracks. I swore I would never get into anime or lower myself to listening to its music. But Bebop seems to be an exception:

There's a few...

Family Snapshot by Peter Gabriel quickly comes to mind.
Mostly in how it's much like a story that progresses rather than repeats like most songs do.
Though it's ultimately the same thing I'm listening to each subsequent time, it isn't repetitious enough to become annoying and it provides an interesting perspective alongside powerful lyrical/structural techniques.

For the more "happy" songs that may or may not be video game related...well, the likes of Shatter is full of things that I like to mash repeat on. The best part is that they came out of the blue when I experienced them. Went in playing with no expectation whatsoever on what the music would sound like. I was blown away. Also, the Hotline Miami disco music (which introduced me to Pertubator).
