Sony Reports $1 Billion Loss

EA lots a bundle recently, too. A lot of companies are outright going out of business. It's a recession. Less money for the public= people spend their reduced paycheck on food to live instead of games. Maybe we'll get a temporary price cut to the MSRP or something to help get people to buy? It'd be nice.

But yeah, not surprising.

I'm not a fanboy or anything, but Sony's been making some mistakes with their PS3 and it doesn't surprise me that they've sustained such a loss because of it. I don't know what happened to them. Last generation, the PS2 was my hands-down favorite system too. I doubt Sony will be crushed in this console war, but it sucks that they're not doing so well right now.

I'm preparing for Sony lovers to kick my ass for this, but I just hope that this means more PS3 exclusives come out for the 360. Come on Infamous...

That's kind of sad. Really hope they won't drop the Playstation line in the future, if only MS and Nintendo compete it would be a far bleaker one.

Im sure they wont drop the playstation brand, theyre just going to have to make many concessions on the next console and change their business plan im sure.

Sony actually expected losses, and predicted them in advance. With a global recession, of course a company based on expensive electronic goods is going to suffer some backlash.

Based on, but not grounded completely in. I'm suprised they predicted so heavy a loss, I'd have thought Sony Ericson and Sony Music would have kept them relatively stable.

Why Sony music? Isn't the music buisness almost dead?

Is the music business almost dead? I thought they were saying it was as like a guilt tactic to stop people stealing but im sure that the music industries still make a lot of money, especially with the rise of itunes etc.

I was obviously exaggerating, but I think it is hardly in a condition to keep a large business like Sony stable.

Though overall, sony still did make a profit this year, so nothing to worry about I guess.

What are you on about? They made a net loss of $1 Billion? Unless i misread your post you clearly have made a mistake

i suggest no one buys sony products then, cuz it cant be to long before they go under surely

And if they r making a loss on every console why r they still selling them, it doesnt make sense to me
