At our lunchroom table, if someone put something in the middle of the table, it is considered to be fair game for whomever decides to make a grab for it first. One of my friends unintentionally put a bottle of Coke near the middle of the table. I made a grab for it, and as soon as my hand was on the bottle, I received a punch right in the nose. My nose was then broken. It was a good lunchtime.

And no, I didn't get the Coke.

I've been hit by cars multiple times, maybe 4 or 5 times. Never had any injuries from it I couldn't just walk away from.
On the other hand, when I was a kid a bicycle drove over my head and cracked it right open, I was out for a whole day, didn't wake up until long after I was checked out from the hospital.

Embarrassing but...

In my early teens I was going shopping with my Mum. I was standing on the driveway waiting while she backed the car out of the garage. I dropped something (I forget what) bent down to get it and when I turned around again I stepped in front of the car and got my foot run over. If I hadn't bashed desperately on the windows and howled in pain she would have got me with the front wheel again.

My own mother ran me over a bit :(

I was in my car, getting horribly t-boned by another car, which pushed me into a ditch, whereupon my car flipped onto its side. I wasn't injured, but I couldn't move afterward (shock, I guess); the entire day the hospital was running tests to ensure my spine wasn't snapped. Scary stuff.

Some idiot teenager decided to dart out of the trees on his bike (without looking) and go straight into the road. I, going 45mph as designated by the speed limit, wasn't able to come to a complete stop before batting his bike back into the woods. Luckily, the kid happened to be a ninja and bunny hopped backwards off the bike at the point of collision. Landing gracefully on his feet. I stopped car, got out, asked if he was ok (said "yes") and then proceeded to yell at him for his ignorance. He apologized, retrieved his bike (it was a BMX bike so it wasn't too destroyed) and peddled home. Took a good hour or so for my hands to stop shaking. Bloody yanks.

I was in the crosswalk right outside of school the day of semester exams and a car ran over my foot. Strange thing was, it didn't really hurt and I could still walk on it.

Next time, hit the car.

[sub/] With a mace! [/sub]

EDIT:

OT: No serious injuries to note (as of yet), yet I have given people a reason to go to hospital.

I was on my GpZ500, stopped at a roundabout, waiting to pull out.

The coach behind me decided to pull away! He went along my right side and turned left, lifting the back of the bike and toppling it over , trapping me between the petrol tank and the side of the coach.

I was dragged down the road for about 30 yards and managed to get my torso out of the way of the wheels.....but not my legs. Amazingly, I broke nothing, even though the coach weighed around 11 tonnes. I was on crutches for a couple of weeks and my legs turned green and purple!

Moral of this story, don't be what bikers refer to as a SQUID (Stupidly Quick, Underdressed Ignorant and Dangerous). Wear armour and leathers, even when popping to the local shops.

I too got hit by a car twice. Both accidents didn't give me any injuries, can't even remember them bruising me.

I did however fracture my elbow once, but that was simply because the street and I didn't agree for a second. The street won.

Worst I had was a dog that nearly tore my right ear off. Other than that I've been fairly fortunate with accidents, though I did break my leg once falling off a wall.

Why did you cross the road near a corner? That was a bit silly.

I've been lucky with accidents. The worst I've had is when I was tripped and I hit my chin on the ground which sent my twwo front teeth through my tounge. Sounds a lot worse than it actually was.

My Mum has been in holiday in egypt for the last two week (got back tuesday). I've had no contact with her (no messages got through on our mobiles). As it turns out while she was there she was in a crash! The driver of the minibus they were in was driving way to fast and it flipped over on a turn!!! Thankfully her only injury is she's detached some ligaments from her kneecap (at first they thought she'd broken her kneecap). She still goes to work and can drive (she leaves her diesel in 2nd and her right leg is okay.
As for me, the worst injury was where I accidently trod on an upturned three-pronged eletrical plug, which went into my foot. I had to pull it out, stagger round to my next door neighbour's (she's a retired nurse) trailing blood from my foot (like John Mclain in Die Hard).

I also had a cancerous brain tumour but that probably doesn't count as an injury.

The worst accident I've been in was when I fell off a trampoline age 7 and split my skull open. I still get woozy thinking about it.
I did something similar when I was a Toddler, except for the Trampoline part.

So yeah, gonna have to go with spliting my skull open as a wee lad.

A car hit me when I was on a bike going to school. I was on the left hand side of the road and as I was passing by the local grocery on the sidewalk and a lady hit me and I fell right in the middle of the closest lane. I knocked the license plate off her car including the part that holds the plate to the car. I picked it up, handed it to the lady and made my way to the school.

I had decided to get to the school because I didn't want to wait for my family to get to me and cause a serious mess what with the lady, Asian by the way, knocking me off my bike, breaking its chain, and busting my teeth because I wore a retainer at the time.

That's about it.

I've only really had 2 bad ones.

* My parents and I went for a walk along the beach in Sri Lanka on Boxing Day 2004. I don't really have many clear memories of that any more except walking along a railway line after a local rescued us.
o_O You don't mean the tsunami, do you? That must not be your most cherished memory :(
Yeah, it was the tsunami. It's not a brilliant memory, but my parents and I are still here so I'm just grateful for that :)

I was in the car with my family, driving back home. Some guy fell asleep and hit us and also made another 2 or 3 cars a part of the crash. I went unscratched, along with my mom and sis', but my brother broke a bone (right arm). My dad suffered way more than anyone else. The guy that fell asleep hit his side of the car so he got jammed. His foot got smashed fucking hard. You don't wanna see that x-ray, really. Also, his left arm got cut and jammed by something, think it was the wheel. His biceps was cut in half. I was standing there, hoping the firemen would be able to get him out of there, while he was losing a lot of blood. Not a nice memory. He needed a year or so to walk normally again and a while longer to regain the strength in his left arm.

So, that's the toughest accident I've had. Ok, I wasn't hurt or anything, but I wished my dad didn't have to get so hurt. That accident reflected our lives for many years that came. Not in a spiritual way, but financial. One of the worst things that happened to us.
