They've been described as systematically wiping out all traces of the current universe races. They also see themselves as totally superior to those races, so they would not feel worry when they attack head on, in true invasion style rather than just being 'destroy all'. There's also possibly a hint of personal motive from the reapers thanks to the human's destruction of Sovereign and their role in ending the Human Reaper's development, so it would make sense for them to attack in the way it was portrayed.Irridium said:But it completely goes against what the Reapers are, creating quite a big contradiction of who they are. Just rubs me the wrong way is all.philosophicalbastard said:Because intercepting nukes or losing Earth the second the game starts isn't entertaining.Irridium said:Why would the Reapers invade Earth instead of just nuking it from orbit like any other smart being would do?
Thought you might enjoy this.scifidownbeat said:Wait, next year? It's only one more year till the release of Mass Effect Tres?
Retrospectively it doesn't seem long, but I'm still going to be counting thedayshours. Can't wait to rub it in the snide fucker's face.Yassen said:I just can't wait for this moment.
"Shepard! It's the Turian Councilor, we're under attack by enormous... umm, ships and need your help!"
"Say it."
"What? Shepard there's no time."
"Say it."
*Sigh* "Reapers."
"What? But Councilor, we have dismissed that claim."
"Shepard, we're being attacked by Reapers!!!"
"Ah yes, the REAPERS."
With massive fingerquotes.
I agree with this man. Or woman. Or Reaper.RYjet911 said:Good for you I guess...Daedalus1942 said:God I hate Karpyshyn..

Although the only reason you're in this thread is to piss off those who actually wanted to see this trailer and you could do us all a lot of favours by shutting up and staying out of something you dislike.
I'm sure there'll be some glowing spots on them somewhere.Wabblefish said:It looks pretty cool, though I found it weird looking at the reapers walking.
Can't imagine fighting one of those things in-game...

I'm afraid you might of missed my point.Warachia said:Here's your answer:DSK- said:I'm disappointed by it. But I think it was cool seeing the reapers all land.

This is a spoiler
How the hell did the Reapers get from Dark Space to Earth so quickly? I mean, they needed the Citadel to crush the species up to the Protheans and use them as tools/back up plan to analyse the current state of the galaxy's sapient development.
I would have thought it would have taken a long long time for the Reapers to get to Earth.
Hopefully ME2 DLC will fill in the gaps between ME2 and ME3's continuity.
They probably captured any ship in existence, looked over a galaxy map, then used mass relays. Doesn't seem that hard to me, especially since the collectors were working for them, they would have seen the coordinates of earth and the shortest route to get there to begin with.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, if the council does this shit in the third game I will flip right the fuck out.Yassen said:Thought you might enjoy this.

[sup] For those asking...[/sup]
We have no time frame for the reapers speed and arrival, or how much time passes between game two and three, they'll give us something. Assuming they took off after sovriegns death, they've been going straight for two years now, and weren't too far away any more, they also probably have advanced engines/mass effect cores that allow them to move a whol lot faster. My earlier statement was for when they were in the galaxy.DSK- said:I'm afraid you might of missed my point.Warachia said:Here's your answer:DSK- said:I'm disappointed by it. See this (again, spoiler)
Skip to 0:14. Now, my question was how did they get from there to Earth in such a 'short' period of time. Or perhaps how the hell did they travel from there to Earth. That is what I was asking/deliberating over.
