I like that, if someone said that to me in a bar or where ever I'd certainly laugh and yeah, the ice would be broken.
Being a female there's very few standard pick-up lines to use and I actually don't have a collection of my own however if the first thing a bloke said to me is a cheesy pick-up line I'd think very seriously about discontinuing the conversation as soon as possible if they didn't follow it up with something less slimey and a bit more general-conversation-type.
i.e. If a bloke said this to me: "Hay let's re-arange the alphabet and put U and I together", I'd hope that he's follow it up with how he's an English Student currently looking into the history of the Roman Alphabet and so would give the implication of being charming and witty.
As you can tell I obvously expect too much from a chance encounter because I haven't had a boy friend ever. *cringes with shame*.
