Square Announcing Widely Requested Game Next Year?

I haven't played kingdom hearts, and I'm skeptical. I've read some reviews by customers who've played it, and it feels like a dumbed down version of final fantasy. Simpler combat and levelling system, apparently goofy and donald automatically heal you 0.o . I've looked on ebay, and it's going for about £20 (38USD)! I'm an rpg and final fantasy fan, should I buy this?

If they did remake FFVII I'd like to see them introduce some of the gameplay elements of Crisis Core. Say what you want about the story [No Square... there was not a lame Sephiroth knock off named Genesis at Nibelheim, I don't care what you say], but the game play was addictive as all hell.

At the very least I'd like to see Materia Fusion.

In other news I'm cautiously optimistic towards FFXIII.
