Ha that's pretty good.
And it also seems like I need to get this game now... um just because it looks like a good game, yeah... that's the only reason.
Umm, yeah...looks like a good game. Same reason I'm giving for getting it.

This is why I don't use Live options for my consoles. Not because I'd do something like watch that cutscene over and over, but because the idea of a company tracking my behavior is just plain creepy. Who knows where that info could go?

Ha ha ha ha ha! This is awesome! It's like Mass Effect 2, only better!

So just for fun, I clicked on the Parasite Eve link. Sent me to Amazon, where the game is going for $225. A lot of money. The funny part though is that, at the bottom, it says you can trade in Parasite Eve for a $5 Amazon.com credit. Who the hell would do that?
$225!?
Damn I used to have that game too :(

And this game looks nice I mean uhhm fun or something... yeah.

If this was 80,000 views from one person I would be amused and impressed. Assuming this game sold like hot cakes (Do they sell hot cakes in japan? Do they even sell Hot cakes in other parts of the world? What the hell is a hot cake?) its not very impressive or amusing :p
It's another word for pancake. Wikipedia has everything.

And yes, this is very funny. And maybe a little disturbing.

Edit: Never mind. I see the rest of the thread beat me to beating your joke to death. I was never here.

I'm guessing that's not just one guy, at least I hope not. Do you think they'll put even more fan service in the next game and just show her having sex? I wouldn't think so normally, but this is Japan we're talking about so...

I can't be the first person that read "3rd birthday shower scene" and thought Chris Hanson was going to knock on the door?.

Eurasia is, and always has been, out ally. Your treasonous lies have been reported to the Ministry of Truth.

Um... YouTube?

I like it when developers watch our gameplay habits so they know when I quit playing their crappy game a quarter of the way in.

Of course, with YouTube--if you want to unlock infinite viewings on a larger screen--now Google knows how much you've been watching the shower scene (once was plenty for me).

But then again, Google knows all the latina bubble butts in slingshot monokini's... or whatever... that everybody has been watching over and over and I doubt they really care.

Anyway, yeah, no complaints from me. Go SE!
A person faces either perv-tracking through a now suspiciously creepy game company or through a global corporation that knows every single search of the individual in question explores. Well in that case, at least the later probably won't judge anybody over a video game shower scene if that's all they were looking at March 23rd, 2011 at 10:49 PM for a total of 79 minutes 32 seconds and 971 clicks on "pause." As far as Google's concerned, that's like 12 internet Hail-Mary's compared to March 14th....

This unlockable scene doesn't happen to be titled "The 3rd Bachelor Party," now does it? That could explain a lot...
[sub]And sell a lot...[/sub]

Having watched the scene to see how much of a problem this is, I don't really see the issue. It's not exactly an explicit scene, and doesn't even have a well defined boob/ass shot. You see a nice steam block between her stomach and neck, and then a shot of her running her hand down her thigh. Not exactly the highest of need to watch it a few hundred times each, really.

Not that there's anything wrong with watching an imaginary girl shower 80,000 times, but it's a little embarrassing to admit.
Considering the abundance and availability of free pornography on the internet one has to wonder why though.

Seriously, if they registered their account and are being "monitored", I think it's safe to assume they have internet. If they have internet they can find porn of...pretty much anything they want, even shower scenes.

And I've seen the scene in question, easy to find on youtube, it's really nothing special... Just your run of the mill overreaction people tend to show at at the human body.

Time to find cash for a PSP
Seriously though, went to youtube like so many of you probably did to see what the fuss was about, and I've got to say, between that, a few other cutscenes, and some gameplay, I'm actually impressed with what the game as a whole. The scene itself looks like something out of FFXIII (despite what you feel about the game itself, the visuals on that are amazing), while the rest of the game looks high end PS2 graphics. Very impressive for a handheld.

Anyways, I've got to say that I'm still sort of opposed to the idea of the scene itself, as it just reminds me of a mindset that a female main character in a game seems almost obligated to provide fanservice, and this is especially jarring with Aya, who is made out as a character that just happens to be a woman rather than flaunting that fact constantly. Yes, 2 had a shower scene too, but I really didn't like that one either (not to mention that 2 also had the old "tank controls" horror games have thankfully grown out of, so should we really use it as an example of what to do?).

Look, I'm not opposed to fanservice by any means, but it's not something that every character should do. However, I will say that the decision to make this an unlockable scene rather than a normal one makes this work, as it makes it feel more like an extra bit rather than being part of the character.

Ohhh Square Enix, you so silly.

I'd like to think this is SE getting back at the players who haven't liked their previous games, by embarrassing them.
