The new trailer doesn't show any actual gameplay footage but it has inspired some heated discussion among fans of the series, ranging from debate about the meaning of the opening dream sequence to complaints that Jensen's augmentations don't look primitive enough to fit in with the Deus Ex [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_Ex_%28game%29] timeline.
That depends, the Deus Ex engine is quite obviously dated, and, even at the time was a little chunky around the edges, could be that characters like say Gunther and Anna would have looked a lot sleeker in a modern engine, Navarre always reminded me of trinity from the Matrix, all black leather and circuitry (well, maybe not the circuitry...) though, I played Deus Ex -first- so it's probably the other way around.

No, being made for Xbox360 and PS3, that said .. DE1 was ported to the PS2 and saw quite a success there ... so the DE formula could work over consoles .. and no they aren't going to dump the PC version in favor of the console one ..
But you forget that the PS2 version was somewhat dumbed down. For example in the PC version, there was real key input for passwords. Sometimes they can be cracked through detective work. It can be a phrase relevant to the username or location, such as JC Denton's email password being bionicman and the Hong Kong Police station's combination being 911. It can be finding a pattern such as discovering that two computers in a building have the same password, implying that it would be the same story when you encounter a third computer. It can be guess work such as discovering all but the final digit of someone's ATM pin number, leaving you to try the last digit one by one.

On the PS2, there was no key input since entering them in would have been a hassle for a controller. So there was no guess work involved. You just HAD to find the right datapad or pay some asshole to cough up the passwords. That was the same system used in Invisible War which was designed with the Xbox in mind and many fans hated it.
While what you are saying might be true i personally played the PC version of Deus Ex and i don't remember i had to do any guess work ... there was always an alternative way to get the password .. like you said .. a data-pad lying around .. some e-mail ... some guy ... etc etc.

So i personally didn't feel bad when they changed that aspect in DE2 ... but anyway .. many games on the PS3 and XBOX360 do use on-screen keyboards for various aspects .... so it is still a possibility for manual input to return (unless the devs clearly say other wise)

"The box of ammo reads 10mm flechettes. As huge fan of the powerhouse 10mm pistol from the first game, and decrier of Invisible War's bullshit "universal ammo" created to appease console gamers I'm very relieved."

god i hate the elitist tripe some pc players spew, there is NOTHING to indicate ANY console gamer thought that was good. it simply fitted the science fiction of the game. nanites in the first game could make drones and detonate incoming explosives. having them fuse into bullets that fit any gun was feasible....annoying.... but feasible.

as a general rule console versions of a game don't result in features being stripped. deadlines do. you come up with 500 idea's for a game, and if ten make the final cut your doing pretty well.

frankly i agree with the consensus of just making the first game again with the updates unreal 3 would automatically make possible. literally pick up the code and swap the underlying engines over. all we really want different is the ai to be tweaked into the new millenium, the physics to be updated and the world to have better modelling and textures. revise somethings into minigames such as lock picking and multitool usage would be my only suggestion for change.

ie lockpicking from fallout 3/splintercell, hacking from the code matching sequences in mass effect 2, and electronic lock bypassing could be made more original. such as arranging circuit board samples to form an electrical path. the longer the path, the more multitools used.

and stop blaming all your damn problems on "console gamers" we hated what happened to deus ex 2 as much as you did. we don't ask the dev's remove all the damn features. they have the same retarded logic you do. the only thing we ever ask for is interfaces that use buttons not mice. thankfully you guys are taking the KY jelly on that for the next few years.
