"Come on, come on, hurry up and get out of there!" muttered Tom, constantly checking on the monitor while he barricaded the bridge. With Lisa automating the controls in Thor's absence, the bridge was empty, save for Tom. He was currently trying to jam the doors so that Commander Cerise couldn't get through. Lisa popped up on the monitor again.
"Mr. Anderson, if I might-"
"Not now, Lisa! I've got to find something to seal the door with.... wait, how will that work? The doors slide into the wall!"
"I am merely suggesting-"
"Shut it, Lisa, I'm thinking! Hmm, maybe welding... now where the hell will I find an arc welder right now?"
"Look, all I'm saying is-"
"All I'm saying is be quiet! Hmm, what about blocking it with furniture? No, every damn thing is bolted down in here! What am I going to do?"
Lisa sighed, and her holographic image snapped its fingers. The access hatch to the bridge sealed shut, and the emergency bulkheads slammed into their joints, completely barricading the bridge. Tom jumped at the sudden sound, and turned to look at Lisa. "What, what did you just do?"
"If you had cared to listen, Mr. Anderson, I have complete control over the Star Brigade's security systems. If you so wish, I can seal off any part of the ship at will."
Tom frowned. "Wait, that sounds kind of dangerous. Wouldn't you need a voice code to activate something like that?"
Lisa flashed an ingratiating smile. "Yes, only Captain Vance can authorize such a procedure. I merely offered the option to you as a courtesy. Please continue running around panicking, if you so choose. Or you may go back to monitoring the away team, now that you have no need to worry about Commander Cerise interrogating you."
Tom huffed, and muttered under his breath. "Little smartass, so damn patronizing. I can see why Demexin doesn't like her."
"You do know I can still hear you, Mr. Anderson. And I relayed that last message to engineering."
"Oh you son of a *****!"
